I liked how she tried to play into the whole thing as a "test." If you don't pass it you're not legitimate, by wording it that way she's far more likely to get a response. When directly challenged people tend to try to prove the positive. Same tactics are used to sell insurance and to elect politicians. ("If you love your family buy them the best available.
