I adore wearing very high, thin, heels. Unfortunately I do not get the opportunity so those that I have, gather dust in the closet.

I prefer to see my sub in thin high heels, I also prefer open toes, and she better have taken good care of her toes. I don't like the heels so high she can't walk well, about 3" rise or so...

Very high heels on super petite women look ridiculous: it makes them look like pink flamingos or like they're on stalks. Chunky heels are fattening and so last millenium. Super skinny heels are hard to walk on, but if you can carry it off, yay you! Heels are wicked in bed :-) .

There is a middle ground out there. And buy the best shoes you can afford. For goodness' sake, learn to walk on your heels, practice in your living-room if you don't know how to, and be realistic. If you're five foot nothing, a pair of five inch heels is going to make you look ridiculous. And wedges are wonderful for the summer in the city, but they should be kept out of the bedroom at all times!  It's all a question of balance and harmony: have fun tottering [8D] .

So true! Everyday I see business women with high heels (at times innapropriately high for office wear) and you look at them from the back and their ankles are wobbling. Barefoot in summer, slippers in winter. But I have an injured foot and can't wear the really high heels for walking. If I'm going to be lying down in them, that's different.

If you are over 25 in my opinion those chunky heels look ridiculous, I live in 4 to 5 inch stilletos and I love them. Sub or not, I wear nothing but sexy pumps and strappy sandals with a thin heeled stiletto. What kind of question is this?

I don't wear those things.  Heck no.  I like my ankles unbroken, thank you.

I saw a woman in some really beautiful high heels.  She was thin, but curvaceous, pretty sexy legs... and then she walked in those beautiful heels... like she was bouncing... clunk bounce, clunk bounce, clunk bounce.  I wanted to give her a pair of hush puppies and pat her on the head.

Sigh.

When i lived in Manhattan i saw beautiful women fall all the time on the street in impossibly high heels. The sidewalks are not exactly conducive to walking in them - i.e. most of the sidewalks angle towards the street and are full of cracks, grates, etc. Definitely made me feel better about my own efforts to walk in the high heels my previous Master desired. And now i love wearing them, just don't get to near as often anymore.

Oh, and when in the City, taxis are your friend. [;)]

IMO spiky stilettos aren't more feminine, but they are more sexy.

My left knee is kind of trashed, so I can only wear really high heels when I'm going to be spending most of the evening sitting down, but I do like to wear heels. My new pair of shoe love is a pair of matte leather black wedges, 2.5" heel, and peep toe. If I add them to black cargo pants and a white t-shirt they turn the outfit from "bummy" to "casual."

I also like the chunky heels that taper down into a small one on more punky shoes, and if I were going to go with a nice, elegant shoe, it would be built like this one. To me this shoe (rounded toe, thin medium height heel) is the epitome of femininity. It's not as sexy as a Louboutin, but the shape is just so feminine.

And no, I don't think that certain shoes are for dommes and certain shoes are for subs, except for perhaps ballet flats, which I love, and which I can hop around and be more graceful in, which to me makes them more of a "submissive" shoe. I do see how stilettos are fetishized in a domme, but at the same time, for a woman who isn't used to walking in them, they can be used as proof of her submission, similar to hobble skirts or even Chinese foot binding.

I'm actually making a pair of digitigrade boots (non-heeled like hoof boots, but not hooves), and I must admit I'm looking forward to completing them.

I love heels, but unfortunately I have a hard time with them. I had foot surgery when I was young and my range of motion has decreased a lot. So standing in heels for a long time can be really debilitating. That doesn't prevent me from wearing them though, I just try to reserve it for going out or dressing up. I'm normally in my combat boots, or barefoot.

Shoes (or lack thereof) are for anyone and everyone.

For some reason I associate closed toes/pumps and boots with dominant women and open-toed sandal-like shoes with submissive women. The heels don't send me any particular message.
