It doesn't make me feel or think anything to be honest. Anytime I've ever been to a public event it's been to use the equipment and to be honest I don't really pay attention to whatever is going on around me. It's just not a concern to me. I look at people as adults who are more than capable of handling their own lives and if they can't they'll quickly learn!

I know more than one expert, and I mean experts that teach classes and publish books . . . anyway, more that one dumb ass Dungeon Monitor has stopped a scene because he felt what the expert was doing was unsafe. Well . . . it would be unsafe it was being done by anyone other than an expert! That’s the nature of edge play. I am an asshole. I just don't care if the tourists kill each other on the cross.

I'm still trying to figure out how a public dungeon doesn't have a frame set up for suspension but instead is fine with people bringing in ladders to attach things to the rafters.

Without judging this whole anecdote, I can honestly say that if a Dom is hanging around a play party and doesn't know what he's doing, the answer is not to kick him out or shut him up or ignore him and be glad you know better. I think the reaction should be a more experienced Dom helping the new one and perhaps offering him a way to learn more; such as giving him a list of workshops, or even private mentoring. People who don't know what to do aren't bad in and of themselves; it's only a person who knows exactly what they should do and ignores it in favor of his or her own selfishness that deserves to be cut off and judged as wrong.
