I didn't know where to put this post so I figured I'd just put it in the General BDSM area.

I'm very new to this lifestyle (I've never even had a partner, I've just grown increasingly interested) and I've grown disappointed with Collarme. I have a point of improvement that the admins (or whoever runs the site) might want to take into consideration if they want to keep people like me around. I'm tired of talking with people who just want money and who are professionals. I realize this might be a way they find their clientele but I would STRONGLY recommend having a filter on the personals that allows us to mark and ignore all of the professionals. I just want to experience the lifestyle and it's so hard with all of the clutter and with the general lack of seriousness.

Anyway, that is my two cents.

Fortunately or unfortantely, however you want to look at it, this suggestion has been made numerous times before. I know the mods are aware of it because I know they do actually look over these boards - I have found that out the hard way. [:D]

So, for the time, they have elected not to put in a filter. It might be because there are people on collarme specifically looking for professionals. And those people, who have spending money, might also buy products from the ads that keep CM free for the rest of us. It's also possible that they are a lazy bunch of weasels who don't want to put in another filter so you should demand a refund. [;)]

In the long-run though, the filter is only going to partially help. Those who want to deceive will simply opt not to use it.

Sheesh in RS&P already?!!

soul2share -> RE: Collarme (2/3/2010 9:27:12 AM)

OP, you just have to learn to weed out the ones that don't fit your needs......trust me, if you check out some of the other sites, they are even more inundated with pay-for-service folks.  Welcome to the world of the interwebz......you yourself can set e-mail filters to send what you're not interested in to your bulk mail box.....but as it's stated, it's not going to work all the time.  There are all kinds of people here, the serious, the scammers, the jokers and others......like the old saying goes, before you find your price, you're gonna have to kiss a lotta toads!

If you're contacted by someone who doesn't fit your standards, requirements, whatever, just simply a) send a generic reply telling them "thanks, but no thanks", b) delete it without a response and c), learn that the delete and block functions are your friend.  After all,  they don't call it "searching" for someone for a reason.  Hell, I've been here for at least 4 years and am still looking.....this is my second profile after my password just suddenly didn't work one day....but I have met some great people, both in real time and thru c-mail here.....don't give up on your search.  It's not any easier here in the lifestyle than it is in the vanilla world to find a compatible partner.....it's still a relationship, it still has two people involved, and ain't gonna happen overnight.

Lol & what type of people is that exactly?  One that whines about a FREE site?
If you feel that strongly ask to become a Moderator & work behind the scenes to better a FREE site.
Until then I suggest you hit Delete/Block then move forward.

Jeffff -> RE: Collarme (2/3/2010 9:48:41 AM)

You know how they keep people like ME around? They pay me. 50.00 a month.

Domi gets 75.00, doesn't seem fair to me. But they told me that many of the posters here only get 50.00

I hear holly gets 125.00, but that includes the fee for not cooking for us.

Jeff

Why don't you just hit "Hide Profile" for those obvious ones and move on?

Or have Jeff do it for you---he's looking for a little extra cash.

I'm sorry but you know I just can't get my head round this one.

First thing, where is it written anywhere on this site or promised, or offered that you're going to meet people?

It's possible, there's plenty of opportunity, they give you everything which you need to be able to meet other people including free advice but it's you who has to do the effort and hard work.

You see even if you did take away all the professionals, scammers, fakes and such you would still have to make that effort and spend time and invest resources searching because most people with profiles here would probably be incompatible with you.

Therefore I don't see what difference it makes by excluding people such as you suggest.

And what is this 'people like me' nonsense? Are you going round with scorched underwear just because the sun shines out of your backside or what?

Well bugger me, let me apologize on behalf of Collarme and the rest of the people here that you have to be so badly traumatized in mingling with the proletariat.

The way I see it you've got a choice.

Either you stop talking to people who want money (a good way of working out who they are before you make contact is reading their profiles).

Or you take your elitist self off to Alt dot com or Bondage dot com get your credit card out and invest some wonga so you can hobnob in 'the lifestyle' with all the other elitists.

Or you can get over yourself and just accept this site for what it is and everyone else for what they are and accept the responsibility for you getting yourself into 'the lifestyle'.

But holly, that would cut out 3/4 of the entertainment value for people like me!!!

Jeffffff...i am willing to take a 10.00 pay cut if the administrators will allow me to force feed the OP a generous slab of meatloaf.

1. You are new to CM.
2. You are new to the lifestyle.
3. You are new to life in general, no offense, by being 19, which you should be
4. No one here is going to listen to your whining unless you are begging to be a dog to serve one of the FAB Dommes here, as you state in your profile.
5. The site does what it wants, it is free and no complaining is allowed, been there, heard it before, and will keep telling posters like you the truth.
6. You are too young to say, People like Me. Who are you? Really? What do you bring to the party?
7. Always listen to redheads.

Thanks for listening. Have fun!

Even that is in serious doubt in my mind...

You just gotta love a gal who can use words like "mingle", "proletariat", and "bugger" while apologizing for the world

*smooches to Stella

*edited to fix the quote thingy
