Maybe they were deliberately trying to give the ad a postmodern slant, an ironic "we-can-be-humourous-about-this" flavour, with the veneer of having been made by some amateur for YouTube. They succeeded, but fuck, it's creepy!

Her big claim to fame is that she damn near destroyed HP. HP had a moribund computer business and a profitable printer business. Fiorina had it acquire Compaq, another moribund computer business, thus expanding into a no-growth area. She had to fight against the board to do it, succeeded, and when the whole mess went south, left with a big golden parachute. Between that and this commercial, I haven't seen any signs of competence from her yet. Note that her issue is not with spending, it's with taxes. Yet another blithering GOP idiot who thinks that reducing taxes while spending freely is an economic cure-all.
