Phoenixpower -> Anyone else watching ghost hunters??? (2/6/2010 12:31:46 PM)

Hi folks.

somehow with being at home since a week to prepare for my exam I end up watching a lot series of ghost hunters...such as ghost hunters, ghost hunters international, ghost hunters live, etc....partially due to lack of alternatives at some times...

So I am just wondering who else is watching it or not watching it and opinions...

I quite like it on tv, though have to say I would not be able ever to join such an event (I would seriously have to be gagged with an inflatable one to keep me shut up) and prefer to see it a bit on tv or sometimes have talks about it with a guy whom I know from CM who takes part on such events (he recently did send me a picture how they discovered such a body apparation at one place).

Nope, I would freak out to be personally involved with it...now...what about you?

Not a bad show. But I think its a bit over dramatized. Some of that stuff is creepy enough with out adding all the extra drama.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Anyone else watching ghost hunters??? (2/6/2010 12:34:18 PM)

that is quite true [:)]

I know of the shows but I don't watch them unless I am in Austin.  I used to have the entire series on DVD until I lost them in hock.

There's plenty of stuff that exists outside of the realm of our senses. But I don't watch that show. I hardly ever watch TV. Who has the time? [8|]

I think you'll get a far better return on this time if you turn off the TV and focus on your studies. You can always watch TV later, after your exam.

thanks dreamerdreaming but I do better with noises in the background [:)]
Apart from that a lot I am doing is putting stuff into shape which includes scanning and copying and pasting...so no need to sit there in silence.

i love Ghost Hunters... the TAPS team. some other ghost shows are like.. completely fake. but i really feel Ghost Hunters (and GHI) is legit because the guys go out to these places with intent to debunk, not intent to find. Most of the stuff they DO debunk and explain why it's happening or how it's happening. So the times that they do find something are just fantastic and fully documented. They don't go on personal encounters or feelings, they will talk about them but say it's no proof of ghosts and also, even after finding EVPs or infrared video, they will still state that you can draw your own conclusions but they personally feel it's haunted.

Anyway, that's my story. :)

I like the show and watch it often. I do get a little tired of their "What the heck was that???" and then a loud sound effect added in, right as they cut to commercial. Then the "What the heck" turns out to be nothing. But there has been some cool stuff, too.

My favorite episode is the one where they used the K2 meter while investigating a house that was very near the site of where Sharon Tate and others were murdered by Charles Manson's gang. It appeared that they had made actual contact with Jay Sebring, who was one of the ones murdered.

True, GHI is my favourite of the shows...I enjoy it when they stay as neutral as possible e.g when they say that they have not an experience on tape and so can't take it as evidence and only as personal experience instead.

And yes, it is really good how they look for alternatives and not jump straight away to "yep, thats a ghost."

abrattyprincess -> RE: Anyone else watching ghost hunters??? (2/6/2010 2:33:44 PM)

yes definitely. i've been ghost hunting... i belonged to a local group where i used to live, and it is VERY easy to be like.. "OMG A GHOST!" lol! but eventually you get used to things and start really learning what to look for. it's interesting, mostly uneventful, but occasionally 100% thrilling.

:)

I love the show, and am looking forward to Academy coming back also.  There's a couple big time cuties on there.  [:D]

It's something I've been interested in and studying for a long long long time.

For the most part, Ghost Hunters franchise is about the only show like that I watch also.  They at least have a bit of credibility.  Most of the other knock off shows seem so hokey and ridiculous.

Steve and Tango??? [:)]

BKSir -> RE: Anyone else watching ghost hunters??? (2/6/2010 3:04:51 PM)

Nah, I was thinking more how I'd like to see Chris (the big southern stud) bending Karl and Ben over the table and grabbing a length of that cable and... uh...  is it getting warm in here or is it just me? [:D]

Although, Tango is pretty hot too. [;)]

I mean... uhm...  FOR SCIENCE!  [:)]

thanks but that thrill would be too much for me to handle...seriously...it is fascinating, and even more a shame to see how nice and innocent some of those buildings look like from the outside....but if I would join such a group I would be the worst they ever experienced to take part...

I would really be awful in that respect to go for it personally [&o] Would love to, but know that this is out of my reach [&o]

abrattyprincess -> RE: Anyone else watching ghost hunters??? (2/6/2010 4:25:51 PM)

awww, i understand! i've always had experiences ever since i was little. i used to play hide ~n seek with a little girl in the basement who i later realized wasn't really human. i just thought she always showed up to play with me. o.0

Of course!  But there are a lot of perverts out there that... well... you know.  I don't even want to say it! *GASP*  Simply shocking.

I shudder to think of it..
(Excuse me whilst I go drool over Hugh Laurie)
