Brain -> Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 12:58:34 PM)

If they get a chance these right–wing loons will assassinate Obama.

Resurgent Right-Wing Militias

In Pensacola, Florida, retired FBI agent Ted Gunderson tells a gathering of antigovernment “Patriots” that the federal government has set up 1,000 internment camps around the country and is storing 30,000 guillotines and 500,000 caskets in Atlanta. He says it’s all for the day when the United States declares martial law and moves in to round up or kill citizen dissenters.

Outside Atlanta, a so-called grand jury issues an “indictment” of Barack Obama for fraud and treason because he wasn’t born in the United States and is illegally occupying the office of president. Other sham “grand juries” around the country follow suit.

Almost 10 years after the militia movement seemed to disappear from American life, there are unmistakable signs of a revival. From Idaho to New Jersey and from Michigan to Florida, men and women in khaki and camouflage are back in the woods, gathering to practice the paramilitary skills they believe will be needed to fend off the socialistic troops of the storied New World Order.

Paper terrorism—the use of property liens, bogus legal documents, and “citizens’ grand juries” to attack enemies and, sometimes, reap illegal fortunes—is proliferating. As a result, the government has set up special efforts to rein in so-called “tax defiers” and to track threats against judges. At the same time, Patriot fears about the government are being amplified by a loud new group of ostensibly mainstream media personalities and politicians, from Fox News commentator Glenn Beck to Michele Bachmann, a member of Congress from Minnesota.

Evidence that angry Americans are arming themselves for violence is hard to ignore.

In March, a Spokane, Washington, man pleaded guilty to illegally possessing two grenade launchers, 54 grenades, 37 machine guns, eight silencers, and a variety of explosives in a storage unit. The man had an “End the Fed” bumper sticker on his vehicle. In May, another Washington resident was charged with keeping an illegal cache of weapons that included a machine gun, four silencers, and two guns made by a local gunsmith and inscribed “Christian warrior” and “NObama.”

You should get back on your medication.

--  yeah thats right.   there is anger against the NWO.

It is not white militias.

It is anyone paying attention.

--  in their own words of Bush-  in 1990  "a new word order"

He said it- end of discussion.

Thadius -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 1:12:44 PM)

Let's assume for a moment that this conspiracy theory is factual. What would they gain from it? Making Joe Biden the president? They would have to take him out and they definitely wouldn't like the person next in line Pelosi. Unless you are suggesting that they want to off Obama because of his race.

Cool I never had a term to describe what the ACLU and NAACP do on a regular basis, now I do "Paper Terrorism".

Sorry Brain but this one is stretching it a bit. Even the claim that it is a recent resurgence, ignores the folks that were doing this and organizing over the last 6 years or so because they feared Bush was going to turn over the reigns to the NWO. Just check the archives over at infowars.com.

If your claims are accurate, does that mean we should watch for the same sort of response from the federal govt? You know the way they squashed the uprising the last time a little over a decade ago?

pahunkboy -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 1:20:55 PM)

...then you dont believe we have a continuity of government policy?

pahunkboy -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 1:26:47 PM)

page 6- we should end the fed.   sounds good to me.

Thadius -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 1:33:16 PM)

Actually, I do believe that many of the policies are carry overs. Perhaps they are for different idealogical reasons, perhaps they are part of a planned goal.

I just don't put too much weight into some of the outlandish claims that we will soon have UN troops running amock, rounding up citizens, and reeducation camps. I think any such attempt to take over this country would have to occur from within, namely through education and legislation. I am not sure if such a plan is in the works or not.

I even remember the claims during the Clinton administration about the colored tags on the backs of roadsigns... you know what I mean, some of it is just too far out in the ozone.

My earlier point was based on a misrepresentation that the militias went away or just started popping up again. I also disagree with the notion that these groups are only right-wingers. I can think of at least 2 groups that are pretty far left and that practice pretty regularly their armed tactics.

This is all my opinion, of course.

this time tho it is different.  there is alot of discontent at the NWO/federal government.

it is not going to go away- because the too much money is now owed by the government.   so- by that mode- this will not - "just go away".

so- the future is all but certain.

we see that usual channels have not expressed the will of the people- ( instead of corporations )

when - the avenues with in the system no longer work- what does that tell you?

it means that once the un-employment checks stop- that the riots begin.

If that is right wing militias- then a rose by any other name....

Right. The last time I heard this story it was Chuck Norris spouting a load of shit about armed underground militias. I'm sorry, but whiny narcissists ae the very last people on Earth you'd want involved with something like that, aren't they?
(It'd be interesting to consider how these noble patriots would have felt about people talking like this about the last Government, though, however full of shit their claims might have been...)

Thadius -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 2:29:45 PM)

Uhm... that was my point. They were doing the same thing under Bush.

Moonhead -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 2:33:42 PM)

I missed that you said that. Mea culpa. They weren't all rounded up by homeland security, then?
Still, I doubt a clade of people in tinfoil hats are going to pose a terrible threat to the authorities, you're dead right about that much.

housesub4you -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 2:45:15 PM)

Seems this message is missed on far to many points

war funding for one,  How can you call everyone who voted against (or even thought of it) Bush and war spending a terrorist and then never vote YES on war spending when the GOP lost the WH  the voting record speaks for it self

Just same old party line BS no more no less

Please forgive me for the intrusion, but why do you suppose folks are arming themselves for violence? Particularly, the inference that it is violence against the powers that be? Please correct me if I am misunderstanding this point.

I think that it is barely possible the upturn in the numbers of folks arming themselves nowadays may very well have to do with being a deterrent to crime. After all, criminals in general, flourish where there are plenty of helpless victims.

I'm strictly guessing here, but a recent FBI release indicates that violent crime is down, during the same time those nasty gun sales were on the increase, which may not be completely coincidental. I personally think it is not a coincidence.

A good point.
It might even just be people panic buying guns because they're stupid enough to believe this crap about the unelected Kenyan repealing the second amendment...

Then you know nothing of demographics. Gun ownership is never a deterent to crime.

Whenever crime goes down, teh first stat to check is whether the percentage of the population that is 15 to 25 years old and male is declining. Since that group commits most crimes when it declines crime goes down.

Want to be which direction that cohort is trending?

In all due respect, if you read my post again, you should be able to find where I said it was "barely possible".Which I would venture a guess that most would infer from that statement that what I said was my opinion and such was indeed barely possible. Not sure why you feel obligated to quickly dismiss that?

Interesting that the arguments made recently on another thread about publishing the names of those with concealed carry permits were exactly the opposite.

It was said that publishing those names made the gun owners a target of crime by those wanting to steal their guns.

Can't have it both ways.

Either they are a deterrent or an attraction to crime.

You and the NRA need to make up your minds.

Please point out to me where I made such a statement. I can assure you, if I did, I must have done during one of my "sleep walking" incidents. I do not remember ever saying such.

rulemylife -> RE: Resurgent Right-Wing Militias (2/6/2010 4:13:14 PM)

Which statement are you talking about?

If it was about being a deterrent then look above.

If it was about publishing concealed carry permits being an attraction to criminals that was what several people argued on the other thread, and I was not implying that you were one of those, only pointing out the contradiction.

edited to add:

Though I do see how you saw that, I used a poor choice of wording by saying you and the NRA.
