I prefer Master Fire when a sub/slave is talking about me and Ma'am when a sub/slave is speaking to me. It's not required, though. However, I do note when it's used. It's a matter of respect to use a title. It's not any skin off someone's back to show respect first, for the responsibility of living up to the title is up the the person who is being addressed. Those that I click with me show respect first. But, as I said, it's not required...it's merely preferred.

With other Masters or Dominants, informal is perfectly ok with me as I'm, overall, a casual person. I have found, however, that those I know who have years of experience use formal titles ESPECIALLY when speaking of friends or people they respect. I have been working very hard to follow this, too.

Status: offline 		This is my first post here and hopefully not my last.  I prefer to be addressed by those I do not own as Lady or Ma'am, I just find it respectful.  I do NOT like to be addressed as Mistress or M'Lady by any I do not currently own or even formerly owned.  I will usually defer to an owners wishes at a social gathering if they do not want theirs calling me Lady or Ma'am, but that is very rare, we try keep a high protocol at all times.

Status: offline 		We prefer to be addressed by our "scene names", unless we enter into an agreement with someone that states otherwise.  We're casual people, and don't require an honorific, again, unless we come to an agreement with someone that states otherwise.  As I commented in the other thread about this...Just don't call us late for dinner.

Status: offline 		I am not a Mistress, just a simple sadist.. so I only deal with bottoms and only during S/m scenes. I'm not particular about what a bottom calls me in scene. Ma'am works, but 'You Bitch' is much better. ;)

Status: offline 		Ma'am or Mistress when first approached. Once I get to know a sub Goddess is what I should be called. And once they belong to me we go informal and I can be addressed by my name.

Status: offline 		I like Ma'am, MizSuz or just Suz by those I don't own.

I prefer Madame by those I do own although there are one or two people I don't own who love me and enjoy calling me Madame.  I am honored by their doing so.

I haven't heard too many people manage to get the word Mistress out of their mouth without it sounding plastic.  I don't care for it personally.

Status: offline 		I very much dislike being addressed by Mistress by complete strangers, as well as Goddess, Empress or the other multitude of names.   If someone persists that they need to give me a title, I may insist on having them call me Grand Poobah or Your Ma'amliness to illustrate the silliness of it.

Ma'am is fine, as is Sonnet or Ms. Sonnet.  Simple, direct, appropriate.

Everyone makes errors so if someone calls me by a title when they first meet me or write to me, I'll gently point out that I consider those earned and I have not earned titles with that individual; please just call me "TammyJo".

The second time I'll repeat the information but frankly that person now has slipped below my potential radar unless there are some impressive developments.

The third time is a clear sign they aren't paying attention or do not care. At that point I will stop walk away, hold up my hand, or type "Please do not contact me again".

I try to show the same level of consideration for them. If they want to be called Bob or Ann or fuckhole then I will attempt to do that as long as I don't consider the term to be too rude or implying a relationship.

I like being called V, or the nickname the initial is for, or my given name.  Using those when addressing me, means.. you know who I am aka remembered my name.  I only really expect "Mistress" from ones that serve me or am otherwise engaged in tanning their..  

I don't get real bent of shape on what people call me (though I'm not too fond of "Maam").  I've been pretty much called everything in the book already. I have some close friends that call me "bitch" .. one if which is lovingly called "Dipshit" .. but those are of course exceptions I make for people who have literally seen me at my worst and stuck by me anyway. (aka old college drinking buddies).

Status: offline 		My parents gave me a perfectly good name and it's Sophie. I have no need to be adressed in a formal way but of someone feels inclined to do so they should use the correct terms which would be Ms Sophie, or Fru Sophie in Swedish. I do not care for being called Ma'am as that reminds me of the queen - which is a lovely lady, I'm sure, but I don't really want to be mistaken for her.

Status: offline 		I don't expect anyone who is not mine to use a title when addressing me, my name is fine.  I know some are more comfortable with using something and then I prefer Miss or Ms.

The title isn't important to me, I do like to be addressed in a nice tone tho'.

"Mistress".
