Brain -> Obama Deception (2/9/2010 1:49:01 AM)

A lot of people are writing about Obama deception now, and were also doing so even before he became president. And lately I am agreeing with them more and more every day. I am very dissatisfied with what’s happened so far, especially when it comes to healthcare. Way too much time was wasted trying to be bi-partisan and look at what happened with Brown getting elected in Massachusetts, like when was Olympia Snowe elected president?

And now there is talk from Obama of spending another two weeks to give Republicans another chance to be bi-partisan with healthcare reform. Obama is not out of his mind to give Republicans another opportunity to show the American people that the people are the number one priority of the Republican party. He is just full of manure that “he will not stop fighting for us.” I think he never started. It’s enough manure to fertilize the White House lawn and the first lady’s organic garden.

I hear a lot of talk from Obama all the time about how he’s “fighting for us” but as far as producing results is concerned, the man doesn’t get them. I WANT HEALTHCARE REFORM AND I WANT IT NOW PERIOD..................................................................

And read what this guy says about the bank bailout, they better fix it too and pronto.

Obama: Bank Bailout 'Necessary' ..Iraq War 'Dumb'
by Larry Elder

Is TARP, then, a success?

Barofsky's report to Congress says that TARP can only be called a success if the program "is both managed well (SET ITAL) and (END ITAL) its positive effects are enduring." Let's set aside the highly criticized management of the program.

Will TARP have "enduring positive effects"?

The argument for the bailout is that some institutions were "too big to fail." But Barofsky now says: "These banks that were too big to fail are now bigger. Government has sponsored and supported several mergers that made them larger. And that guaranteed that implicit guarantee of moral hazard. The idea that government is not going to let these banks fail ... is now explicit. ... In a lot of ways, the government has made such problems more likely. Potentially, we could be in more danger now than we were a year ago."

So did TARP save us?

"Even if TARP saved our financial system from driving off a cliff back in 2008," writes Barofsky, "absent meaningful reform, we are still driving on the same winding mountain road, but this time in a faster car."

Well if you are worried about tarp, I'll give you some words from Geithner to cheer you up.

Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner said the U.S. is in no danger of losing its Aaa debt rating even though the Obama administration has predicted a $1.6 trillion budget deficit in 2010.
“Absolutely not,” Geithner said, when asked in an ABC News interview broadcast yesterday whether a downgrade is a concern. “That will never happen to this country.”

Well there you go. If Geithner said it, it must be true.

I'm concerned about a financial meltdoiwn happening again, and it will like he said in the article if they don't regulate the financial industry properly. It's not acceptable for banks to be involved with risky financial products but it appears not enough people care to do something about it, which is unfortunate. No other country does this.

I don't get it because it's not like Obama needs the money from Wall Street to get elected. Why don't the banks just buy a fucking casino in Vegas for Christ sake if they want to gamble? Assholes that they have to fuck up the whole economy and corrupt congress and the presidency to make money and they don't give a shit. Buffet is just as bad as the rest of them for buying all that stock in Goldman Sachs. The whole situation is sad and all Sanity cares about is for Republicans to take control of everything again like they would clean up anything. It's all very frustrating, maybe I just shouldn't care.
