Good morning - I've a favor to ask of all on here. This is the first time I've required a male submissive to begin a diet and exercise regimen. I've increased the water intake to help with hydration. Cut out all junk foods. Nothing fried. he must grill all meat. Lots of veggies and fruit. My two questions are: 1 - he is 46 years old and except for his belly not in bad shape. So, I'm guessing situps? Does anyone out there have any other exercise suggestions? 2- supplements and vitamins. At this time health wise he takes no meds and has good blood pressure, etc. Is there any particualar supplements or vitamins that would be beneficial?

I appreciate the time and suggestions.

The best thing to do is ask his doctor.  His doctor knows his medical history and what would be the best path to take.
Sit ups might not be the best, depending on his back.  He sounds reasonably healthy, but checking with your doc is the first place to go regardless.

1)  If you're just looking to get him in better shape, a general light workout program would be beneficial.  If you're hoping to "spot reduce" his stomach, that isn't possible.  The only way to make less fat on his stomach is to make less fat on his body in general and hope his body metabolizes from that storage point.

2) If he has no special needs or illnesses, then a quality multi-vitamin each day and a calcium supplement are all most people need (even when much younger and much older).

Thank you for your reply. I should have clarified I did make him an appt and that is how I know his medical condition etc. However, his doctor other than "eatting healthy" had no firm suggestions. I'll be starting some online research later today when I have some downtime.

3.  Muscles get bigger and stronger through slow movements rather than quick ones.  The impetus of the sudden movement at the start means that the muscles concerned get used a lot less overall.  Fast sit-ups don't help as much as slow ones - four seconds up, hold for a second, four seconds down.

This is the general advice I've picked up.  It all seemed to work in order to get that flab off the belly for me.  But there are people using this forum who are much better qualified to advise on exercise and diet - so please stand by, or indeed check VirginPotty's link.

core training (with heavy legwork) is the most important for long term health.

abdomen

pumping arms is cute but not real necessary, unless you walk on your hands at 85 like Jack LaLanne

core training sounds more along the line of what I'm hoping for...overall well being

There are some specific exercises that target the abdomen and obliques aside from sit-ups and crunches. Finding a regimen that provides some diversity and keeps him interested will help. If he gets bored of doing the same routine, he may eventually lose interest.

There are some websites (created by certified trainers) that provide routines which target certain areas. I cannot think of any right now, but if you are interested, send me a note on the otherside and I will try to dig them up for you.

weight training and cardio... are always good for slimming down in conjunction with eating right. Pilates and yoga are great for core training as well as centering the spirit.

It's fun transforming a male's body! You may want to try interval training (high intensity/low intensity): alternate between one minute of high impact cardio (working out at your maximum capacity (or close to it)) with one minute of low impact cardio. Interval training for at least 20 minutes a day / five times a week should result in weight loss as long as you're consuming less than what you're exerting. Some people experience better results with steady-paced, moderate exercise, lasting between 45-60 minutes, eg. power-walking. Perhaps give both methods a shot. Good luck to you both. :)

I've put him on a combination of both...power walking and yoga on tues and thurs with cardio (stepper, tread mill, weights, crunches, situps) on Mon, wed and friday. Intake has been changed as well lowering calories and fat plus bumping up hydration. Started him on multi-vitamin with added calcium plus a extra B12 combo. It's been only a few days so I'm curious to see how it works overall. As of now he has reported a slight increase in energy.

All of the input has helped quite a bit. Gave me directions to point research and etc. And oh yes, I so love molding my boy to his optimum level. Stamina is vital!!!

Don't forget to monitor carbohydrate intake as well. Type 2 diabetes can occur at any stage in life, even in those who appear healthy. Speak to a nutritionist regarding an appropriate amount of carbs for his body and exercise regime.

Odd that you mention that...I have a menu selection that is based on the diabetes needs. As he prepares meals this gives him a healthy direction. Thank you for reminding me. I'm curious if anyone else has taken this on and if so what was the outcome?

I have with my vanilla partner. For reasons other than just health. When I first met him he had a negative image of himself. Since I put him on an exercise regime, his confidence and self image has improved dramatically. He no longer feels like he is 'the smallest man in the room". He now feels he is in equal balance with his peers and because of this, he has become more assertive at his work, and has received a promotion. I'm very proud of him.

My male was strictly vanilla when I found him. Totally misunderstood and down on himself. Tendencies were more feminine but due to society he had chosen the rough macho type to emulate. I want to show him the best of both worlds.
