It's *possible* that you could bring out the switchy side of a submissive who previously hadn't explored that area, and hadn't had any interest before. My own journey was the other way around. I started out as a Domme for 5 years, then was in a variety of egalitarian kinky relationships (top, bottom, or switch without an overt D/s dynamic, but leaning a bit dominant) for another 6 years or so. I had my first experience with submission with a casual playpartner - completely took me by surprise, since I'd never reacted to anyone submissively before that. He wasn't compatible with me for a relationship, but the following year, I met my previous Dominant, and we were together for 3 years. However, even if the other person is capable of dominating (rather than just topping), *you* might not be able to draw that reaction from them. Certainly, there are also some people who have no interest whatsoever in the other side of the whip or kneel. It's not the kind of thing you can force a time-line on, in any case.
