So I was thinking, Tom Waits has been around for a long long time,but it seems that every one I talk to is completely oblivious to him, and I was wondering if it's the same here.So what do you think, is Tom Waits the coolest dude ever? Is he still cool?Do you even know who Tom Waits is? do you even know what cool is? (on a side note, I'd say Cab Calloway was a close 2nd)

Oh,yea. I've enjoyed and admired TW since he came on the scene. He's brilliant. I was online ( not the virtual kind ) waiting to buy tickets at a club in Chicago he was appearing at. Tom was pan-handling the folks in line. It was hilarious. Most of the peeps in line, waiting for tickets to his show had no idea who he was. Ya gotta love a guy who will pop a Mickey's Bigmouth while he watches his house, which he just torched, burn.
