I for one do not want Palin anywhere near the White House. Or any other office for that matter, after showing herself to be a quitter. She sought, competed for, won, and accepted the public trust of an important public office. Then she quit. She doesn't deserve the public trust again. YMMV.

I will agree that she is out there..........way, way out there. Of course where she should be is in the office she took an oath to serve and uphold. So I'm getting a little tired of apologists for her, she took no more heat than any other politician and what she did take was largely a result of her own making from her total lack of preparedness. I mean seriously, she was campaigning for the office of Vice-President and in two separate interviews she made it clear she had no clue about the duties of the office.

It was the Governor of Ohio, James Rhodes, who sent in the National Guard. He then further inflamed the situation by coming to the campus and making a derogatory speech about the protesters: Kent State shootings During a press conference, Governor Rhodes called the protesters un-American and referred to the protesters as revolutionaries set on destroying higher education in Ohio.
