Admin -> Collarme + Treo 650 (3/27/2006 4:03:01 PM)

We are experimenting with a smartphone friendly version our website.  Currently, It has been formatted to work with the Treo 650.  This version currently has very limited functionality: you can only use it to read your inbox mail. You cannot view sent mail, bulk mail, respond to messages, or do anything else.  Here is how to use it on the Treo 650:

1) Launch the Blazer web browser on your Treo

2) Navigate to www.collarme.com and log-in with your username and password.

3) Navigate to www.collarme.com/pda

Notes:

1) You will not need to log-in again and can go directly to www.collarme.com/pda in the future.  We will add a log-in feature if there is sufficient interest in this project.

2) If you have a different smartphone such as a Treo 600 or a Windows Mobile phone, we would be interested in your feedback on how this version works for you.

3) The amount of effort we put into this project will be proportional to the number of users who show an interest in it.

4) Have fun!

Received one of these {very same model} as Christmas present and still haven't activated it yet -  Will post with my success.

Just a side note.....I think these phones are decent, but I'd much rather have a Blackberry 7520  ; }

I have the Treo 600 but won't be able to help you out, unfortunately, because I don't have a data package on the phone (they're ridiculously expensive up here in Canada). Would be interesting to see how it looks/works on the phone, though. Good luck with the experiment.

I'm not very good at these technical things.....................what on earth are we talking about here?????????????????????

MistressDREAD -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (4/22/2006 12:00:38 PM)

nothing Dearie,
go back to the other side where items you know are talked about. Its only an item that if you owned it would know it.

For what it's worth - This didn't work at all.  I logged in...and it took me back to the main screen asking me to log in.  I navigated to www.collarme.com/pda and it took me to someone else's CollarMe email account. Not good.  Now I have other people's information, including phone numbers.  I would seriously urge CollarMe to look into this immediately.

So....if that's the case, who is reading mine???

Mstrofpatience -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (3/6/2007 9:39:21 AM)

I recently logged into CM using my Treo650. The interface is good however I am not pleased with the fact that there is no way to set the area of scanning. In other words you can't set to browse by geographic area. For example, I have not been able to search ONLY Arizona submissives...and I can't find how to set the search parameters. Any thoughts?
If it wasn't for the fact that I was searching EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, it would probably be great... but I would prefer just to search my home area and see people from MY geographic arena.

ArgoGeorgia -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (3/6/2007 10:39:13 AM)

I just tried it out on my Treo.  Seemed to work really well, pretty fast interface.  The only things I've noticed:  Don't make it show pictures by default as they tend to take a lot longer to download.  Just have a link with "Picture" that will then show the picture.  Instead of the picture, show the basic stats.  On the search, you might want to allow more search criteria since most on a phone would want a more filtered selection.  Also, and not sure why this is, but the search I do through the phone seems to pull different results than the one I do online.  Maybe that's just me.

Otherwise, I think it is a cool start and I look forward to using it.

I have a Palm Pilot LifeDrive and it works great on it!  I do think it would be nifty if I didn't have to go to a different site and could just login from collarme, although I'm sure that would make more work (I just put a bookmark on my lifedrive for the pda specific section either way).

Edited to Add: When I tried to search for a user by their username all I got was a blank screen and then when I tried to navigate out of it I got an error page.

On the Cingular Sync aka Samsung A707 using the normal browser that comes with the phone I could put my login name and password but clicking the login button didn't do anything. However...

using Opera Mini, not only could I log in and look at your pda page, the regular page wasn't too bad either. I highly recommend looking at your page through Opera Mini, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I could see myself looking at the pda page in idle moments.

krikket -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (3/6/2007 2:48:08 PM)

I've made it a real point not to own or know how a Treo, blueberry, palm pilot or another handheld device ( i have enough problem with a system that sits still..lol).  It's not that i wouldn't enjoy one, but because if i did my boss would then expect me to fix at least one of her 3 devices, none of which she can figure out -- we're not even gonna go there..whew!!!

Hope it works though..sure would be a nice way to get around the network IT guys -- lol!

cheers

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (4/5/2007 9:51:29 AM)

I have a Treo 650 and while I can read my email from here, I can't reply (it says page not found).  The site still has very limited functionality.  You can look up a user but you can't write them.  You can't check to see if your email was read; You can't see if a user is online..
Any word on whether these issues will be addressed?

SadisticBeastCA -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (12/4/2007 9:35:04 PM)

What I seem to be having a problem with is that I have a great new iPhone, yet no matter what I do when I try to go to collarm.com on it, it takes me to the PDA site instead of the actual site!!!!!!!!

Is there away around this?

maidheather -> RE: Collarme + Treo 650 (6/26/2008 12:02:16 PM)

I know i'm not using a "smartphone" but i would be very interested in a mobile version of the website. I'm running on a Kyocera Lingo that has a decent size screen for web browsing. The problem that I have is that when i go to collarme.com, i get the center frame (so i get all of Miss Six's info) and the search options, but i don't get the left frame that shows the login button. i tried to go to a straight login page, and got a HTTP 400 error from my browser on that one. A great idea would be to do a domain like m.collarme.com or collarme.com/mobile and just have a login page, and then go straight to mail, since that would be a big reason for using the service on the road. for those who have the higher end smartphones, collarme.com should work fine as well
