Its a shame for my kitties - the abuse and neglect they get is simply awful, and I thought I'd best confess it, you know, to relieve my conscience and try to repent?

Take last weekend for example. The poor things only got their usual four meals a day, milk, crunchies and treats and then to add insult to injury I made them eat two roast chickens from the supermarket rotisserie.

And on the Sunday I drove to the nearest pet superstore to get them the first new toys they've had in over a month! What with losing their collection, taking them outside and all they'd had to wait a week for replacements and even then they only got ten pounds worth of toys and treats.

And when I went to the office this week, I only picked up two empty boxes for them to sleep in and tear to bits. And I only play with them for an hour at a time too; such a shame.

But then worst of all tonight - and this has forced my confession now, after their tea time feed I made them eat two fried cod from the chip shop.

I just hope the poor kitties will forgive me for all this neglect and abuse.

Anyone got any more confessions about their suffering pets? Unload here people, repent your ways!

E

ok...so to avoid you rejecting them I just secretly drop them over your fence and when I get back secretly take them back again with just waiting outside until I see them at some point...you might not realise it when 4 more are in your house

My gang isn't as "neglected" as yours and currently I have to cut down the treats my torty girl is addicted to...I never had one as addicted to it as she is and I aim to film her soon and to put it onto youtube to show you how nuts she is (she is just bonkers about them) as it is just simply too expensive right now (both my supermarket who do sell it pushed the price up from 74p to 99p and 1pound...and as she would eat 6 packages per day if she would get a chance I have to keep it under control to a certain degree...

so I hope they either get down again with their prices or to find another resource as that price is certainly unacceptable for me...

apart from that they get their whiskas (as they showed me mor then enough that they dont approve of felix and brekkies) and access at all times they have for their dry food, usually from go-cat...having four cats I am not bothered to pour it into a box every day...

so I just open it from the large side of the box and offer them the whole box that they can eat whenever they want to eat (and as they don't overeat they know when to stop!) apart from that at times I share my chicken with them...or when I order a pizza take away I order chicken nuggets for them...

but thats it

edited as I forgot...sometimes they do finish off my vegetables or pasta or rice...as I often simply don't manage my portion of food despite it not being big already...

My poor cats get fed 3 times a day. 1/4 cup each of dry food in the morning and night and a spoonful late at night.

I cannot give them treats as my boy gets very sick. If i give them to her he looks at me like What about me? So, I am guilty and don't give them any treats.

They have a whole basketful of toys which they don't play with much. They prefer that wand toy that i crack onto furniture. He doesn't seem to care for it though. She will happily jump up 6 ft. for it.

I have learned to get good aim with that thing though. :):) Only the floor or furniture gets cracked not them!

She is a tortie and she delights in chasing him around. They play fight and sometimes it is so rough (to me), I look to see if there is any blood. There isn't. They are especially funny when they run at each other and jump high in the air. Best of all they make me laugh. God love em all!

I am not a well behaved bed. I shift position, move too much and heaven forbid!, type while she's trying to sleep.

And since the big typing machine on the desk broke there is always this infernal little one taking up my lap. And I won't let her sit on the keys!

How is a  poor kitty cat supposed to nap like that?

She's not a happy kitty. Try as she might she just can't train me at all...

geeze, my cat gets fed only twice a day. gets plenty of water while it's blistering out, though.

he has no toys cause he sleeps all day.

wait, we've discovered a mouse in the house and we suspect he brought it in. too much effort for him to kill it, so he goes to sleep and it's run amok now

i don't spend any time playing with him because he's still asleep when i get back from work.

i only feed him corn chips cause he bites my ankle if i eat them without giving him one.

I scold my sister all the time for not giving her two dogs, who happen to be my dog's parents, any attention or affection or petting, ever. The poor things are all over me when I visit, demanding petting and attention, pleading with me to be petted, oh please oh please oh please, pet me NOW.....

In reality, they're spoiled rotten :) This is actually a funnier story when I'm there fussing over them for being so "neglected"........ oh well.

Damn... I thought this was going to be a thread about human kitties. I was going to complain about a severe lack of tummy rubs...

I didn't actually neglect my Fatty Ding Dong (He's a black cat and hence could not be called Garfield). My mom made me get rid of him because she got sick and almost died. Though it was no fault of mine nor Fatty, but I still feed him when he hangs around the house.

As I speak, they are all stuffed with their favorite Fancy Feast food.  They do miss their king sized bed....which they will be getting back at the end of the month when I move into a 2 BR apartment (1200 sq ft...for their romping pleasure).  I am constantly tripping over the toys they get out and absolutely REFUSE to put away....I guess they figure mom will once she (I) breaks a foot or an arm or a neck......

They will have windows galore in the new apartment.....at least two for each little kitteh.  A room of their own, which will have a bed for visitors and guests......however, since it won't be occupied, they will more than likely come and suck the room out of my bed.  And said visitors and guests will have to make sure they can sleep around the kittehs.
They have me trained well.....first thing when I walk in the door....feed them.      Get "delicately" awakened to feed them for lunch, then the afternoon snack, then the evening snack, and a meal once I am ready to leave for work.  Scritches and scratches at the appropriate (for them, NOT me) times, and they so kindly allow me to sleep on their bed,  .....even tho it disturbs their precious slumber when I *gasp* move, or even worse, actually have to get up to use the facilities!  Of course, it is in my best interests to placate their little hissy fits with more treats!

As I sit and watch them doing their morning ablutions, I have to wonder one thing....I want a Dom WHY????????

Now dont you all feel better for confessing your ways?

I must say though, I missed out one instance of abuse - like that I only buy two starter portions of chicken tikka from the curry house for them when I get a curry, and only spend ten minutes cutting it into feline sized portions for them so that my meal is still warm for me to eat - such selfishness.

Honestly Lady E I am shocked! How dare you neglect those kitties.....then come here and brag about it. They should be taken away from you and you should be prevented from owning other kitties.

zeph

who actually neglects her own kitty in a similar fashion

Well zephyr, I actually had the RSPCA on the doorstep a few months back - worried about how I was taking care of so many cats. Condescending gits is how I'd describe them and they'll not get a penny from me in future on account of it. Plenty other charities (cat specific charities) I can give to and have.
