In any given geographical location, people are exposed (no pun intended) to things other people in that location have been exposed to. Some move out of that orbit but some don't, preferring to keep with the comfortable known set of whatever it is we want to talk about.

I think it can be a cultural thing, however I find that the fetishes I favor are more about a feeling than about culture.

Having spent a lot of time in Germany, I will chime in with a Deutsch-y viewpoint ......German fetishes seem to revolve quite a bit/more around the old traditionals of black leather and no-nonsense pain/torture with Dommes appearing/and actually being in my experience a level stricter than what might be seen elsewhere.....oc this just could be that tingle i get down my back when a German Domme-stress starts off in that lingo.......omg......German BDSM porn also predated much of American fetish porn and always seemed to be quite a bit harsher though there is similar orientation i notice also with Dutch work too....

If you have spent any time over there one might notice the general correspondence between the above and normal day to day characteristics of German living= order, no nonsense, leather leather around and about, Frauleins who speak in spine tingling tones,,,,,,
