This is not appropriate and something needs to be done like a transparency law to discourage this happening again in the future.

The shadow governor

Apparently Sarah Palin wasn’t the only one “going rogue” during her time as Governor of Alaska; newly released emails are revealing husband Todd’s surprisingly major role in the state’s government, where he was so involved that some described him as Sarah’s “co-governor.”

Alaska’s public information laws led to the release of 1,200 state emails showing Todd giving instructions and opinions on issues ranging from “talking points on rural Alaska” to “potential budget vetoes,” and 243 emails are still being withheld.

Alaskans were aware that Todd was “a powerful First Dude.” But former state Sen. Vic Fisher said the idea of “co-governors” was unheard of. "Acting as an official of the government, that seems to be beyond proper," Fischer said, "beyond the bounds of the way the government should operate."

These e-mails leave the distinct impression that wherever Sarah Palin moved in state government, there was a shadow that moved with her -- the shadow of Todd Palin.

This impression is decidedly different from The New York Times' September 2008 portrayal of Todd as someone who "rises early to train for snowmobile events, then ferries the children to various sports and school activities.

What do you propose?

The same thing happened with the Clintons when Bill was President, and I would be surprised if it wasn't happening now with the Obamas. When you marry someone, you get to trust them and want to bounce ideas off them.

There is only one answer to this. Immediately upon election the spouse and children must be executed.

Sure, there are those that will tell you confinement is good enough. Appeasers! What if the spouse some how passed messages or escaped?

This must be dealt with swiftly and firmly.

Governance is not for the squeamish.

It would be simpler and more humane to simply forbid the election of anyone with a mullet.

Governance is not for the squeamish.

This is insufficient. In order to prevent the Executive from having anyone exercise undue influence over him/her by being somebody the Executive knows, respects, and trusts, we must also execute both parents (grandparents too, if they are still living), and indeed their entire extended family. All the friends, teachers, and co-workers have to be put down as well.

In fact, we should lock the Executive in a small room and allow communication through hand written notes only. The executive is supposed to be omniscient anyway and therefore talking to people will only serve to bias him.
