Just a short clip with some potty mouth:

Bill Maher from his comedy special ...But I'm Not Wrong on the Tea Bag protesters longing for the return of the 1950s in America when they say "they want their country back". As Bill points out those times weren't so great if you were anything besides male and white.

Funny but sad because it is so true.  I greatly upset someone a few days ago because as they were railing on about their rights being taken away I kept asking which rights they actually had taken away.  Never did get an answer.

Stephanie Coontz wrote a book about the 50's titled "The Way We Never Were." She pulled back the curtain to reveal that in many ways the 40's and 50's were riddled with denial and illusion. Cognizant dissonance is the term I frequently associate with this period.

Maher is funny, and makes plenty of good commentary, but he also has plenty of his own bias, and such is reflected in his monologues and performances.
