cuckoldmepls -> Why Do Liberals Love Taxes??? (2/15/2010 1:05:53 PM)

This really puzzles me. Why would anyone think the government is entitled to their paycheck especially the federal government??? At least with state and city taxes you usually see the results of your contributions in the form of schools, city streets, and police, ambulance, and fire protection. You worked for it, and in some cases you not only worked hard for it, you put up with a lot of bullshit for it too. In fact, half the country would quit their job if they didn't have a family to support. So why do liberals love taxes??? I can only come up with two possible answers. Either they don't make enough money to pay taxes and/or they are the recipient of numerous tax funded programs such as food stamps, energy assistance, free or reduced price school meal tickets, cell phones and internet service. It doesn't make any sense otherwise. To me, socialism is the same as shoplifting. It drives up the costs for everyone else. They basically receive something that they didn't have to work for just like shoplifters do. Shouldn't people have to live within their means, and downsize if necessary, before receiving government freebies??? At least within a years time anyway??? Here's a nifty little story for you. I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be president some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were president what would be the first thing you would do?" She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed. "Wow... what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're president to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50." "Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50 you earned, to use toward food and a new house." She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?" I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party." Her parents still aren't speaking to me. http://babelishere.webs.com
