Revolver is a pretty great album

I disagree about Thriller...but I never liked anything of Jacko's much

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 8:07:20 PM)

Likely an age thing Arpig… Thriller was a seminal album with some pretty catchy tunes.

slvemike4u -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 8:08:53 PM)

The shot at Dylan was an hilarious touch.

Arpig -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 8:12:52 PM)

Could be, but I wasn't really that old when Thriller came out only 23.

And I agree with you Mike, the Dylan bit was funny as hell

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 8:30:33 PM)

The Dylan line was fantastic!

We Catholics do have a sense of humor after all.

Still... London Calling and The Velvet Underground & Nico absence is glaring wouldn't you say?

Oh yes, very much so...I LOVE both those albums, especially London Calling! In fact I think I will turn off the figure skating and give it a listen [:)]

Come on guys ...the subject matter is way too subjective to start picking it apart....hell if we all posted the albums we feel are missing from this list(or any similiar list) this thread could go on as long as the "song tittle" thread.
By the way where is Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs....lol.

CelticNightmare -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 8:40:25 PM)

Speaking of "vatican songs"..........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f72CTDe4-0

Maybe mike... but lest we not forget...

Only few people bought Velvet Underground records upon their initial release but every one of them started a band.... or so it's been said.

Wow... just wow.  The choice of albums doesn't impress me as much as the fact that the Vatican has extended recognition to any rock whatsoever.  It's almost like if Iran officially recognized Israel.

And they have chosen to not demonize Harry Potter, even!

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/15/2010 9:30:34 PM)

Maybe but I have to wonder did Sr. Luc Gabriel's Soeur Sourire get any consideration???

Moonhead -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/16/2010 5:51:55 AM)

Thriller isn't a brilliant album, but it's still the last gasp of Jackson doing anything that was worth a shit, when you look at all of the terrible dreck the lad's done since...
That's hardly an ideal list, really.

rockspider -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/16/2010 11:02:20 AM)

Well i thought the all times catholic favourite of Michael jackson was "Don't let your son go down on me"[8D]

That is disgusting and innapropriate.

Is it, considering the number of child abuse cases which has come to light in recent years by the catholic clergy? And the ones which has surfaced in America is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot of countries where the catholic church has got loads of more political power and use it to supress evidence of the clergy's misdoings.

Oh, don't even get me started on that crap.
(For what it's worth, I thought the song title was pretty funny.)

*head desk*

Yes.  First, MJ was cleared of charges.  He is also dead ~ that whole "don't speak ill of the dead" thing.  The joke lost its funny years ago.  Also, because it makes light of the victims of sexual abuse.  It also demonizes an entire religion for the actions of a small percent.  And while I realize that you are not in the USA, but here at least, a child is way more likely to be victimized by a public school teacher.

Moonhead -> RE: Thw Vatican's Top Ten Rock Albums of All Time (2/16/2010 1:08:11 PM)

Hang on, so it's okay to speak ill of the living, but the dead get a free ride?
Does that mean the neocons will have to stop giving Clinton a kicking if he croaks from this heart trouble he's having at the moment?

I agree with you Steven. Miracle of miracles, huh?
