ORIGINAL: tirnan i know what you mean about the swedes,it is not just a language barrier, one of the reasons i came back to blighty, still when you get to know them, they are a fine bunch of people.stockholm with all the'seagulls',a very pretty place, one of my favourite cities in europe?you are allright,i was in askersund south of orebro, out in the sticks with the bears, and trees.regarding pubs in stockholm, there are brit friendly pubs there, the british ex-pat network know where they are and where you can get rare british food in the shops. The old parts of Stockholm are beautiful but, alas, our budget won't often stretch to the pubs - 50 SEK for a beer is a mite expensive. Still, spring is coming, the snow is showing some signs of melting, and things will improve once it becomes possible to venture out without freezing your arse off. And, no, it's not just a language barrier - the Swedes are the most reserved people I've encountered in Europe, even more so than the Brits.
