Yes, Dastan seems to have a tendency to go on a bit. But that doesn't mean his advice is bad, nor that people need to be rude about it. It's advice, take it as it is, and let it go.
What he got was feedback, not always eloquent, but feedback is feedback. What he later dished out in return was insults.
