Hmmm...I thought he was always tightly wound.

Now, let me whisper sweet nothings of engineering lingo in your ears....tension...compression...spring constants...differential equations...

* blech on differential equations *

I am just saying, starting a website to get gold from Fort Knox won't work, try another target....

Msn reports in their headline that officials have stated..."The pilot might have been upset with the I.R.S."

Wow!!!

He was only annoyed, imagine if he had been truly upset

One of the things that pisses me off since 9-11 is that any damn act of violence is called terrorism.  Shit, we've had stuff like this before, shootings on military bases before, and now it's all terrorism as opposed to your plain old ordinary fuckwits.

I totally agree. But that's the way our government's chosen to play it. They want to keep us scared by constantly warning us about the terrorists under the bed, to the point where just about every goddamned thing short of unpaid library fines is now a terrorist act. "Watch out for this, it's a terrorist act! Look out for people doing such and such, they're terrorists!"

Well, now that this guy has committed a crime that fits smack dab in the middle of their definition of terrorism, they're going to have to spin around and find some way to explain why this wasn't an act of terrorism. Because they want to make sure we're scared to death of all these terrorists who are all around us, but they don't want to have to admit that one of them has actually committed a terrorist act on their watch. It'll be as interesting as it is depressing to watch how they do it.

Thankfully I didn't see it happen but man I sure did get caught in the traffic! What an awful awful and selfish way to make a point. I will never understand people who act out their anger on to others in such a violent way. It makes me feel sick inside.

Agreed.

I try not to think ill of the dead (well, most of them) but in a case like this all I can think is, 'you selfish shithead.'

My thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this wholly unnecessary tragedy.

Source: FBI Knew Austin Attack Was Coming

A trusted source has told this office that the FBI knew Austin was going to be attacked today and had dispatched officers from its Dallas headquarters yesterday afternoon to be in place for today’s incident. The source claims that a confidential memo was circulated yesterday detailing that a building in Austin was going to be the target of an attack today. He was told this by an informant who works in the Dallas FBI office. Four FBI agents hurriedly left the Dallas office yesterday to be ready and on the scene for the aftermath of the incident, according to the informant, who was shaken when he saw events unfolding today and put two and two together. We cannot confirm the accuracy of the claim but the source is known to us and has no motivation for inventing the story. The fact that pilot Joe Stack changed his manifesto at least 27 times before the final version suggests that he had been writing it for days and this could have been what tipped off the FBI in the build up to the attack.
  • The claim dovetails with reports we are receiving from Austin residents that the FBI were immediately on the scene after the plane crash and were filming both the building and eyewitnesses. A separate witness told KXAN News that there were Hazmat teams and fire trucks in place across the street before the plane struck the building. Infowars reporters who spoke to neighbors at Stack’s house, which he had burned down before crashing the plane, expressed surprise at how quick emergency services responded to the fire. One neighbor, named Elbert, said that emergency crews arrived five minutes after he made the 911 call. Whether the attack was the work of a lone individual or part of a larger set-up, the aftermath is being exploited to the full by the corporate media and people like Glenn Beck, who are blaming the incident on Constitutionalists and the liberty movement, implying that anyone who shares any of the grievances outlined in Stack’s lengthy manifesto are also intent on crashing planes into buildings./snip

As horrible as this all is, while I have said my prayers for the injured people and so. I can take comfort in the fact that after it is all said and done...these whackos aren't shit. Bunch of whiney little worthless, gutless, nutless, unimaginative little bitches. Seriously, flying your private plane into a buidling, that's all you got. Hell had he lived, and I'd been there, it'd have been good for him to have gotten a sound beating and been castrated. At least McVeigh inspired terror, showed just how vulnerable we really are. This worthless little shit flew a plane into a building. He'd have been better off hanging himself with the note if he wanted sympathy, this just makes him look like little more than scum.

I only thank god that the crazies are lazies, with no intelligence or imagination to do the really horrible things. It's the smart sane folks that give me pause to worry, and if those folks get pushed over the edge...hold on cause then the real shit is going to start coming.

Hunk, you're source is full of unconfirmed info and has the classic look of a myth.  The acts of one asshole does not a conspiracy make.

eyesopened -> RE: Plane flies into IRS/FBI building in Austin, TX. (2/19/2010 3:21:10 AM)

This just proves once again that we need more plane control.  That anyone can get their hands on a plane and commit acts of violence with it means that the time for restrictive plane control has come.  I know that the AOPA says planes are used for transportation and personal entertainment but that's just their spin on things.  There is nothing in the Constitution that says citizens should have access to airplanes!  And all the airplanes are made in the South and migrate to places like New York where they are used for mass killings!

Not only that but it won't do to have Americans thinking that one of their own is capable of a terrorist act. The Government needs to keep you focused on foreigners so that Americans are suspicious of them and see a terrorist around every corner.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Plane flies into IRS/FBI building in Austin, TX. (2/19/2010 10:14:31 AM)

PA, you seriously need to get back on the meds.  I posted this as a way that the two republician runners for governor of Texas would take this incident as a means to mudslinging against eah other.

Throughout the thread, no one mention the fact that he attempted to kill his wife and child by setting the house on fire.  Stack was emotional and mentally upset and as he states, no amount of therapy would help him out.  He was definitely at the end of his rope, so to speak.

I had dealings with IRS before and sure, I was upset, but I did not take it out on the agency.  I realized I had a problem and the next year, the problem was resolved (I had Lizard, making me head of household).  I paid them the amount owed.

So with Alex Jones doing his regular anti-governmental talk, you have to admit he is grasping at straws here.  I remember talking with the man about the cameras at several intersections years ago (Bo still listens to him).   I did agree with him stating that Wackenhut was building 're-education' center unjder the deguise(?) of prisons.  But I do admit one thing...He is using infowars for his personal agenda.  Heck, when I am in Austin (every month), I look for his show on the local channels there.  But I also watch the Dad Show, a part of the Headstart progam for child development for pre-school aged kids.

I resolve not to partake of poisonplant.  It is probably like infowars and frankly, I view the show as an anti-governement since the government does take care of me now (SSI and Medicare).

Moonhead -> RE: Plane flies into IRS/FBI building in Austin, TX. (2/19/2010 10:34:43 AM)

Would Alex Jones be making the same spiel about government incompetence if McCain had won the other year, or is he one of those "whoever's running the ZOG they're evil" types?
