That's a lie. It was Republicans that wanted working families with health insurance to tax those "Cadillac plans" because they didn't want to tax the rich using income tax.

Bullshit. It was introduced by Max Baucus as a backdoor way to not obviously violate the pledge to not tax the middle class.

A large portion of the current premium increases is in anticipation of caps on future increases under some misbegotten "health care reform" bill.

See that doesn't make sense because Brain was talking about Medicare Advantage MAPDP plans not private or employer-sponsored group plans.

People with Medicare can saty with just Medicare they are not required to join an MA plan at all.  They must join a PDP plan if they want prescription coverage but not for health insurance.  Or they can pay for Medicare supplemental insurance.  OR they can go with a health savings plan.  There are lots of choices.  So why would any insurance company play the futures like that when at least with Medicare they have no leverage?  People can just tell the insuranse companies to pound sand and they still have their Medicare benefits.

I dont know what Brain was talking about, I don't spend any time trying to plumb the depths of that mind. It was a FR to the subject, which is premium increases, and is happening across all health care plans.

And I was replying to Post #17 trying to point out that including MA-PDP plan increases is really comparing apples to oranges and those plan premiums have been in some cases $0 and fluctuate depending on CMS benchmark.  Sorry if my post was confusing to you.
