This reminds me of the way they used to make fun of kids in public school; a "joke" that went, "One duck turns to the other and says "pass the soap" and the other duck says "no soap radio!"

Then everyone who's "in on it" laughs uproariously, at which point the "mark" feels they have to laugh too, then everyone laughs at him ... because it's not a joke and there's nothing funny about it.  The whole intention is to make someone act as if they understand something that has no meaning.

For more on why the raven and the writing desk share something (they don't) see

Why is a raven like a writing desk .........................one is coloured like black ink, the other is covered in black ink.
                                                                                     (cryptic, enigmatic or both?)

"a wigwam for a witches bridle" ............................my mum's reply when I would ask "whats that?"

cause they don't know the words.

Cats actually purrr because of a valve-like insept above their aesophogus. Tigers have them too, but not as developed. this means they purr only when breathing out. What i want to know is who tickled their tummys to find out?

On the subject of riddles does anyone know any good ones because my ‘What goes all around the world but stays in the corner.’ riddle is getting a bit old and tired?

I always liked this one:

I am Something, I am nothing,
I am short, I am tall,
When you fall at your sport then I stumble and fall.
I have never been seen yet beneath a new moon,
I thrive in the evening but vanish at noon,
I am lighter than air, I weigh less than a breath,
Darkness destroys me,
And light is my death.
What am I?
