I mentioned in my profile that I published an erotic ezine, and so I got an email here from someone practically accusing me of being a fake and just here to gather research. Now in a sense the research is true, as I am here to learn, but I'm curious does the fact that I publish an ezine put off others?

Unless the e-zine is a terrible and ghastly piece of work it doesn't bother me at all.  In fact I would consider it a very positive thing.  And as far as research goes I can't comprehend how gathering research makes you a terrible person.

BTW what is the ezine?

Usually the assholes that point out how fake others are have serious self-esteem issues.

It sounds beyond common sense that honesty would make someone a fake.
Have a laugh, and invite that bugger to a e-interview : >. Then have some more laughs.

If I read it then I might care one way or the other. Doesn't put me off in the slightest

I've occasionally got similar accusations that The Loving Dominant was cribbed from postings on the Prodigy board and ASB.  Sometimes it's just nasty but occasionally I suspect that people do remember text on those boards that resembled what is in the book.

Not surprising since I was the author of those posts.  I first got the idea for a book when I realized how many how-to and advice posts I'd made.

Keep on listening, learning and passing on what you pick up.  Ideas should be spread.  The only thing an author owns is the arrangement of words.

Sounds familiar...more than once I've taken a post *I* made, and edited it into a full fledged article.  My style of writing is that I usually throw out something basic, than keep adding and editing, so it's not surprising when I post something meant to be short and go hmmmmm I could work with that.

That's fine with me. I personally would think of it as a really cool thing.

There are some people who complain and attack about the most ridiculous things. It shows good character in you that you became concerned about the possibility of offending others. THAT (your action) speaks more highly of you than anything you might say about yourself.

Just don't tell anyone if you charge for it, or they will accuse you of all kinds of ugly things here.....laughs.

Disclaimer:  I would see nothing wrong if you DID charge for it, I was trying to make a joke and a point.
