Valyraen -> Val's Thought For The Day (2/20/2010 7:48:10 AM)

(...because Lord knows I can barely manage more than one at a time!)
So, thought I'd go with something a little different and just come on here once a day to post whatever's in my head that sounds good. You poor, poor people.

Today's thought is for my Kitten:
When looking at a big project, it's easy to get bogged down by how much there is yet to do. Instead of looking at the big, scary picture, keep your goal in mind and focus on the small steps you're taking. Regardless of how small the step, keep moving forward and you're always making progress.

Hey, if Ralph Marston can do it, why can't I? [:)]

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Val's Thought For The Day (2/20/2010 7:51:54 AM)

Yeah, but it's best if it's been marinated and grilled first. (just sayin'...)

DarkSteven -> RE: Val's Thought For The Day (2/20/2010 7:52:53 AM)

Or just decide that you have better things to do than eat elephants.

Nooooooo but grilling stuff is against the rules. It tends to set off the fire alarms.

Zeph, sweetie...I *think* grilling is primarily an outdoor activity. (unless you have one of those indoor "grills" but...that's not really the same at all)

Which was my point and why I asked what those of us who live in apartments are supposed to do because while we can marinate the elephant, we can't grill it....geeeeez!

Wolf2Bear -> RE: Val's Thought For The Day (2/20/2010 8:16:34 AM)

Stew...make lots and lots of elephant stew.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Val's Thought For The Day (2/20/2010 8:17:34 AM)

Why can't you go outside and grill it?

I don't understand an apt. that allows elephants but not grilling.

I mean...what the heck are you 'sposed to do with the elephant, yanno?

I don't buy elephant live and whole, I get it dead and already cut up.  It just wouldn't be fair to the elephant to keep it cooped up in my apartment all day while I'm at work.

See? That's just pure laziness.
Walk to work, then ride it home, marinade it in the pool, and then cook it! (or do what I do after it marinades, hose it down, play with it and take it back to teh zoo...)[:-]

And do what with it at work? I work in a hospital, no way they will let me take it in with me.  Also no pool to marinate it in.

MAAAAAAASTER! Chrissie's fucking with my heaaaaad! *bursts into tears*

No inspirational thought for today, folks. Just sending good juju to someone who needs it. I'm so sorry for your loss, darlin'.

Valyraen -> RE: Val's Thought For The Day (2/21/2010 10:26:25 AM)

*sigh* At Kitten's loud and repeated insistence, putting up a thought for the day.

Losing someone that you love isn't ever an easy thing, nor a happy one. When I remember my departed loved ones, though, I try to remember the good times that made those people - furry, feathered, finned, or biped - so very dear to me. Instead of mourning their death, I try to celebrate their life and that I had the opportunity of being involved in it. It doesn't make the hurt any less, but I can't ever help but smile through the tears and be grateful that I have such wonderful memories to look back on.
