Well you only have four... so I suppose I better hit ebay

Clue-by-four doesn't describe an amount, it's the implement by which clues are administered to the woefully clueless.

It's a pun based on "two-by-four," which is the most common cut of lumber used in residential construction.  A beam (or "stud" -- ha ha) that is two inches by four inches by some longer length.

Edited to add: You fuckin tricked me, you fuckin smartass!!!!!

Those threads were the concentrated vitriol of the entire population of CM, kinda like a tourniquet that stopped the poison from seeping into other parts of the site... hadn't you noticed how nice the politics section has been the last few days? Or how the weird threads in ask a submissive and ask a master had been reduced in quantity... all closing those threads has done is release the toxins back into the blood stream of the fora, and soon you will see it spread through out...

Or I am just talking shit because I am bored now that the train wrecks have been cleaned up, including the mangled bodies along the side of the tracks..

LOL.. have to admit those threads kept things well contained. The Random Stupidy area is a very useful containment field.

I still think a Not-So-Random Stupidity forum would be a good addition.  There is a clear and present need.

Definitely! I'm tired of all these train wrecks getting dumped into my favorite part of the site. Makes it hard to find the games.

There is no need to start multiple threads about it. It just invites more unecessary rambling and flaming.

You mean, there really are message board games here? (puzzled look)

There are. Some word games, some get-to-know you games (eg, The Person Beneath Me), and my own modest contribution, What Do These Things Have in Common?

I'm poking around some, I hardly go into the "Polls and Other Random Stupidity" area of the message board, except when some thread i'm on or following get's moved there.

The last couple of days is the most I've been in that section, in like the last 4-5 years I been using the boards here. Go figure.

Julia, it's starting to happen this very moment. I went for a stroll back up to the main section and yikes.

Senility can do that doncha know ? (as well as cause the sufferer to spout meaningless nonsense and "forget" recent events ... errr ... or even make them up as they go along.)

Thorny

"confabulation" = In psychology, Confabulation is the spontaneous narrative report of events that never happened. It consists usually of the creation of false memories, perceptions, or beliefs about the self or the environment as a result of neurological or psychological dysfunction.[1] When it is a matter of memory, confabulation is the confusion of imagination with memory, or the confused application of true memories.[2] Confabulations are difficult to differentiate from delusions and from lying. pfft, holly, she's hardly anything worthy to be bothered about. i was defining a word. if she feels her best defense to a definition is a nasty offense, no skin off my nose.

i deal with confabulation in regards to elderly people who are in advanced stages of dementia. since that didn't appear to be the definition that was called for, i resort to handy dandy wiki. for non-important stuff, it's a decent tool.
