Texaslady4you -> RE: Fireplay (9/11/2004 9:02:12 AM)

Well, i've been waiting for a sub/bottom to post on what they experience physically when playing with fire, and what their mindset is leading up to, during and after their fireplay scene.

i've never experienced anything more sensual and relaxing in the course of any scene than when i engage in fireplay.

As far as where on the body i have been played, other than my head or touching my face, the whole body is fair game. Even then, occasionally my Dom will bring the wands above my face so that i actually see the glow of it through my eyelids. At no time does he actually bring the flames near my face, just extends it above it so that i am aware of its warmth and its glow. You haven't lived until you have fireplay on the bottoms of your feet. The feeling one gets when they slide into a hot tub after a physically exhausting day is the same type of immediate relaxation i experience when i feel the warm flames against my body. When the lighting is dim, the flames mesmerize even those who are watching and often times it even had a hypnotic effect for everyone both participating and observing the scene.

Once, we played in front of a very large group of onlookers at a BDSM event in Denver. The stress of traveling from Texas to Colorado and the excitement of the weekend consumed me. Nearing the end of the night, he decided to have a fireplay scene. Once we began, it was so relaxing that at one point in the scene he leaned down and whispered for me to wake up.

Another one of our memorable fireplay scenes was at a private dungeon here in Houston. He placed me under a suspended full-length mirror and told me to keep my eyes open while he played me. i swear the mere sight of watching the flames spread across my body, the waves of fire racing over my breasts and my pussy created a whole different mindset for me during the scene. my mind processed the flames to be hotter than i had ever experienced them before. Funny how the mind works, huh? It was that night that he spread my legs open and actually played my pussy while i watched. Spreading my lips open with one hand, and using his other hand to guide the wand between my legs, he snuffed out the flames inside my pussy as a climax to our scene. Did i say climax, in more ways than 1.

i cannot let it go unsaid that he enjoys knife play. Sometimes nearing the end of the scene he has taken out his knife and lightly cut his initials into my back applying fire to the cutting afterwards. This is one example of the "cut and burn" technique previously mentioned before by Girru. This is much more intense (in my opinion) for the alcohol penetrating the open cut coupled with the warmth from the fire produces an intensity from the experience of both the cutting and the fire. It may be too sadistic for some, but heaven for those of us on the bottom who long for its touch. i enjoy touching the scratches left behind and the feelings that just by seeing his initials on my skin remind me that i am owned. Do i need to be reminded? Absolutely not, but seeing his initials on my body stirs an excitement within me that no other type of markings left from a scene can produce.

i had never experienced fireplay with anyone else but him. One night he allowed me to play with another person within our community. Talk about an eye opening experience! i discovered there are people who do fireplay to administer pain on their willing bottoms. What a concept. Now, don't think i'm a fluffy bottom. i'm far from it. But what my mindset was going into the scene was setup by what i had experienced from the type of scenes i had shared with my Dom. i was ready to relax and be seduced, and instead i found myself jumping and tolerating the whole ordeal. So, my advice to those who decide to play for the first time, or the 50th time, make sure you observe what type of responses they're getting from their bottoms before you consent to their type of fireplay.

As far as my mindset after the scene, the saying they melt in your mouth and not in your hands... definitely does not apply here. Sex afterwards or no sex afterwards, sometimes it really doesn't matter to me. i have achieved satisfaction from our shared experience.

Just a glimpse of my side of a few of the scenes i have experienced. i hope it touches base for some of you, and for others i hope it raised a few sparks that you too will wish to share with the rest of us.

This sounds safer than i originally thought, but i don't think i could do it bound as i would want the power to put it out if i felt it burning. I also would want to be able to escape if something caught fire.

I tried other sorts of flames to light the alcohol but eventually I decided I liked a plain old lighter best. It seemed a bit clunky and unromantic at first but the control is excellent and I can pick it up or set it down as often as I like and mot break the flow of the scene.

I like violet wands for lighting the alcohol - no danger of open flame, and you get the dual sensation of the zzzzzzzzap and the heat. I've used BBQ lighters as well. I find they don't get hot at the tip the way a disposable lighter will with repeated use, and they're nice and long which I prefer.

I use 90% because it's spread thin enough that 70% sometimes won't light or won't stay lit.

I prefer 90% alcohol too, because sit burns away more completely and doesn't leave as much moisture behind. I find with 70% alcohol, it doesn't take long before the skin becomes too damp to light anymore, due to residual moisture. I don't have that problem with 90% alcohol.

Thank you all very much for telling me about your fireplay experiences!

The information inspired us to try some fireplay ourselves this afternoon and evening. I'm still processing...

Okay,

So, I've not actually tried fire play, yet...

But, I attended a most amazing presentation and demo tonight- in Chicago.

I'm curious, but intimidated....

I am not going to go into detail here about techniques. The thought that someone might read something I wrote and then try it unsupervised at home is unsettling for me.

I do, however, want to add a couple of comments in response to earlier posts:

1. I agree that 100% cotton is good for smothering a small fire. Especially if the cotton is damp (requires planning ahead). Denim works real well since it is dense and 100% cotton. Another material that works well and can be used dry is kevlar. While it is not as easy to find, for me it is preferable to even 100% cotton.

2. I would not put anyone on vinyl and then play them with fire. I agree that it is nonabosrbent. If you "unknowingly" spill alcohol and that alcohol pools under the person you are playing, should that pool become lit, the sub/bottom is at great risk of being seriously burned. If that same sub is being played on a piece of vinyl, they are at risk of being burned by the melted vinyl in addition to the risk of being burned by the pooled alcohol.

Well to each their own but I personally see no sexual attraction in fire play. Now I'm not critisizing its just lost on me.

Relaxation for whom? I can't imagine being very relaxed if someone were playing with fire around me. But i have never tried it, and probably never will.

LOL! I was thinking along the same lines. "Relaxation, hell! Not when my genitals are on fire"

Warm Greetings,

I had attended a seminar some years ago and the gentleman was doing fireplay. I was a little nervous to begin with; the idea of open flames on my flesh made me question my sanity.

As others have stated, it was so relaxing. Its like a deep heat massage the penetrates into the muscles. I had it done front and back, shoulders down. Other than being a mind f**k, its so calming, I think it would even be possible to doze off. Under a skilled hand, throw in a few heated stones and it could be a spa treatment.

I would have to be pretty out of it not to notice a fire in a pool of alcohol for long enough for the vivyl to melt. A shallow pool will burn out before getting that hot anyway. Actually, I suppose it could happen in a very bright room where alcohol flames ca be nearly invisible, but what's the fun of that? [;)] What surface do you recommend? I could see something like varnished wood or metal or somesuch being very safe, but then pressure and ischemia becomes an issue. I like the vinyl because it is not absorbant. Something like a mattress or cotton sheet becomes a wick when soaked with alcohol and can create a very hot and persistant fire in a "flash".

Does anyone know of any respected fireplay experts within the UK?

azalea -> RE: Fireplay (2/16/2005 2:16:23 AM)

Sorry to drag up such an old topic, but I was able to watch my first fireplay scene this weekend and am enchanted. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a fireplay website they recommend or feel provides sound advice. Thank you. :)
