Except for health care, including prescription drugs, there is a lot to like about Ron Paul. At least you have to know Ron Paul would not have given any money to Wall Street.   Unfortunately, Paul would not help Main Street either.   Bush and Obama have been missing in action for Main Street so what's the difference? Another good thing about Paul is that he would audit the Fed and scale-back American military involvement around the world saving a lot of money.

Ron Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll

Rep. Ron Paul won the most support for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination in an unofficial straw poll of conservative activists attending an annual conference.

A libertarian from Texas who has railed against spending and the Federal Reserve, Paul won the Saturday contest at the Conservative Political Action Conference with 31 percent backing. He has sought the presidential nomination in the past and attracted a following among a segment of voters frustrated with Washington.

Participants cheered as their favored candidates' names were announced. Some members of the audience cheered while others booed loudly when event organizers announced Paul as the winner.

Paul spoke at the conference along with potential presidential candidates former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. Romney won second with 22 percent, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin came in third with 7 percent and Pawlenty finished with 6 percent.

Fewer than a quarter of the 10,000 attendees participated in the balloting, an unscientific sampling that only offers bragging rights

It's at least a step up from the candidates they've fielded lately.

What are your talking about?

They kicked RP out of the rep convention 2008.

they are also running 3 guys against him for his current seat.

They don't like him.   they want more wars.   WAR.    what a joke.

...and Obama is no better.

This is where reality kicks us in the balls. I know quite a bit about Ron Paul and I disagree with his stance on some very fundamental issues. Nonetheless I would support him for any office he sought, including President.

Despite our stark differences in ideology, he is so honest, forthright and worthy of power that I can cast aside the issues of abortion and such. He has the uncommon gift of common sense. I think he almost cares and there is the possibility that he really does care. About us common folk that is. This guy is no stranger to reality.

And the debate has been had about auditing the fed. Sure it has been, but not scrutinized as it should be, leave it at that. Going back to a solid currency, that is not someone with a tinfoil hat, but I am not so sure he knows all of the ramifications. The guy is a gynecologist for Pete's sake, but that means one thing for sure, he is not an oil man.

We should've elected him President about 20 years ago or so. Now age is catching up to him. Ouch.

I'd be very very surprised if he ran again, and very very very very surprised if they nominated him. The problem with republicans in general, is the over the top support for bankrupting us with tank, plane, gun, battleship, UAV purchases, though Obama might as well be Bush so far in that regard.

I gave money last time to Ron Paul, the only time I ever gave any political person money, if he runs again, I'll give him some again. I don't know of anyone else that may run that I could support at all.

Anyway, I almost hope he doesn't run, as then I can just ignore the whole mess, instead of following it daily like last time.

he is going to run.

the reason why is the keep the issue in the debate.  even if he can not win- I see him keeping the fed in the agenda.
