Osf, I don't think anyone went off the deep end, because I dn't think anyone took the question seriously.
It didn't help that I read it wrong from the get go [sm=Groaner.gif]

To actually answer the original post, would I obey regardless of the consequences?  No.  There would be consequences either way, and I'll always choose the consequence that does NOT get me arrested.  If the consequence for not doing something that could get me arrested was the end of the relationship, then it would end.  One of my few hard limits is and will always remain: any actions or inactions that would ultimately be life or liberty threatening.

Then again, I don't self identify as a slave, so my answer isnt really indicative of a slaves mindset.  I'm still a loving, giving person who will do all in my power for those I care for, but I'm not going to break the law on anyones whim.

I'm not picking at YOUR *tiered power structure*......I was reading your post and addressing that. Taking the common sense approach obviously isn't that common if it needs to be factored in.

I realize that. However, it's like having a paperwork kink and a contract 50 miles long. Things can go without being said and formally arranged. Some people choose, for varying reasons, to say them.

I don't regard choosing to say them as daft in the slightest. Simply different. Having a written contract does nothing for me - our system is entirely in our heads but *shrugs* Written contracts work very well for others and I can how they are useful.

Edited for clarity cause my mind is going faster than my fingers and to answer your other statement:

Yes the words disobey and please were in my post. You'll find I addressed that when I said

I, personally, do not regard it as disobeying. I was simply using the terms that had already been referenced. I regard it as more attending to the more important matter. We prefer to have the "this is more than that" more formalized. It's our power structure.

Another poster, whose comment began the discussion with Icarys which you commented on, used the term "refuse to obey". I used disobey for ease of discussion in my example.  I used please because I have a dynamic based around pleasing him and I didn't feel I needed to more academic in my posting terms.

That's abundantly clear. And I agree entirely.....I don't need to be informed that if M becomes a total dick-wad-nut-job, that it'd please him if I ignored him and his *orders*.

So true..That's why I don't do the what if's..That's usually a diversionary tactic to discussion or a way to win an argument instead of making peace with the logic of said argument.

This whole thread is a "what if". [;)]

Substitute "osf's life" for "thread" and you have it.

osf, your post above is a perfect example of why people often misunderstand you on the boards. What you wrote could be read as

"What if" questions are the genesis of western civilization. (a statement about a certain type of question)
OR
What if questions are the genesis of western civilization? (a question about the role of questions in western civilization)

I think you mean the first one, but I can't be sure.

Huzzah for you.

I don't "need" to be informed. However it's something we've discussed. Huzzah for us.

I'm sorry that you used terms that got misconstrued, for whatever reason you chose to use them. As I mentioned previously, I responded to what you wrote.

I don't know what you mean at all in your last sentence, how academic do you need to be?.....lol

I only play with quality Doms that have a smidgen of common sense and good judgement; so the whole question is pretty much a moot point for me.

I agree that the question is moot and silly. The only thing missing is the classic, “if Master told to put your finger on the chopping block would you?”

However, your competitive comments and claims to superiority and quality compared to people who would strip in public (by request or command) is very prudish and judgmental. What a cold fish you are.

I have fucked in churches, restaurants, laundry mats, airplanes, hallways and staircases. . . you don’t know what you are missing. I even hired an attorney to explore the cost of bail and legal defense for having sex in an Italian restaurant on several plates of spaghetti. (yes . . . it was more expensive that it was worth)
Who let the nuns in these forums anyway?

i guess you're right- I've never even considered having sex with a bunch of limp noodles, Italian or other flavors[:D]

Yes you did. And I explained why I used them along my opinion.

It means I evidently needed to structure my post more as a formal paper and give each word and their possible meanings a great deal more consideration. I considered that people might jump on "neglecting/disobeying" but another word for "electing not to perform said command" didn't come into mind quickly and I didn't feel like writing a paper.

I really know better but I felt lazy and since the post was since in reference to a person who was not me, I went with those terms.

Edited to respond:

Basically it's "Good for you. Good for us. Let's quit calling things daft and eat a cookie"

And it's a British term, BTW.

most all the comments so far have little to do with the question as asked and to whom it was asked

AquaticSub -> RE: If you told your slave (2/21/2010 8:27:11 PM)

Explain yourself please. I think the conversation has been exceedingly on topic and much more stimulating than your usual threads.

I think he's tired of all us subs responding when he asked the question of Doms. You know how uppity we can get, showing our clear lack of obedience, blah blah blah.

Ah well.....not in common usage......lol and we tend to eat biscuits, not cookies.(Hoorah and hooray are)

How you write your posts is up to you, obviously  I can't account for how lazy you felt when you wrote it...lol. I'm sure you're exaggerating about a *formal paper*...but you just never know. You seem to be clear as fucking clear at other times.

And I like your replies.

Of course the girl had better strip. The reasons and consequences are my business.
