What the hell were today's high school kids thinking?  All they were really looking for was an opprotunity to be out of school. Was there really one kid who thought they were going to change any laws on illgal citizenship? I hope tear gas and rubber bullets are used next time they try to pull that shit.

Reading the dumbass comments by student protesters, i would say they were simply joining the bandwagon to ditch school.

Kids riot because?

It's not what they were thinking it's what they know - There would be no consequences.

Illegal immigrants aren't arrested.

Kids skipping school aren't arrested.

What law would you like to break today and not be arrested?

KaitlanK -> RE: Kids riot because? (3/29/2006 6:00:15 AM)

What are they thinking??? They don't, many have not been held responsible for their actions and parents are so eager with the words "My little Johny would never do that."  Shoot I always tell My son's teacher, "He's a monster and I know it.. " and they know that He will be punished more from ME than He could ever be punished in school.  Matter of fact My college child stated, "Mom I was more afraid of You than what the cops would do to Me." And the funny part is He is a foot taller than I am and He has a good fear of what will happen if He screws up.

"Kids thinking"...now there's an oxymoron. My initial suspicion is that the "protesters" were manipulated into this, after all for that sort of thing to go  on in different cities and such leads me to not believe it was a spontaneous event. I have no evidence of it, just opinions based on my experiences dealing with youngsters just out of the current Public Indoctrination System (once known as Education), and I'd guess that they've been force-fed this agenda with it being presented as fact. I heard all the comments from the "protesters" that I could take, and a few things stood out clearly to me. First, the fact that the debate is over what to do about ILLEGAL immigration is not mentioned (but in their defense, it doesn't get mentioned by the media much or left-wing politicians) and the ongoing comments like "these are good hardworking, law abiding people doing the work Americans don't want to do" which of course ignores the idea that the people being discussed broke the law in entering.
I have to agree that what we saw was a bunch of kids who decided to skip school because there would be no consequences. I wonder just how well they'd be treated had they decided to do these protests in Mexico against thelaws and working conditions there........

That is what happened at Kent State and 4 students died--let us all watch this effort very carefully, this is a very emotional issue for many many people here in America, innocents are often swayed to action--innocently, then someone ends up dead--I suggest instead of bashing the kids, we need to look deeply at who is behind inciting the action.

subtoFemDommes -> RE: Kids riot because? (3/29/2006 9:48:23 AM)

"In Sacramento, students at Kennedy High School were among those who demonstrated. Their walkout was supported by the school's administration." Now that's lovely; let's get the kids to think it's OK to support illegal immigration.

But with BOTH parties having supported it for so long it's rather hopeless.  Republicans: Those business people LOVE their cheap, no benefits cost labor -and don't buy that "they take the jobs no one else will take" crap.  Fact is, the employers have learned they can hire them with no health benefits (they go to the ER instead) no workman's comp claims and no problems -- after all, they are claiming 12 dependents with their phony  I.D.s so no witholding and living 18 to a two bedroom apt and sleeping in shifts, what is absolutely unsurvivable wages to an Amercan citizen, is golden when they take it back to Mexico.  And in CA, when I was there in the '90's, they were getting other benefits as well, no questions asked.  Let the poor black worker from Central L.A. try and compete with that? How?

And I know this for a fact; I used to call on factories in LA where there wasn't  ONE floor worker who was legal and they were being paid about 2/3 of what a citizen used to get for the job, but with no health insurance, pension or any other benefits, for the employer that was like paying 1/4.

The Democrats have supported it for more of an illegal voting base they can bribe with social welfare programs.   Do You have any idea how many of them are on the voting roles in CA and TX and FL? (By the way, who were they voting for in the last closely contested election?)  With "motor voter" it's illegal to ask if you are a citizen when motor vehicle dept. employees in CA make the manditory offer to register to vote.

Who can blame the illegal immigrants?  Our "leaders" and the complicit behavior of busness people has made this acceptable for generations now, along with a public that is told, "Do you know how much ______ would cost if we had to pay U.S. citizens to do it?"  The question is, what does it cost in a way that isn't obvious and can destroy the fabric of a country?  In the 90's L.A. County calculated costs of ... 100 million dollars a year for maternity care to illegal aliens who's children of course, then had citizenship even if they themselves never got it!

I am not too political so , really I am just asking, what's the big deal about the Mexicans?  They aren't really causing any problems are they?  Our ancestors were illegal too and when they were told to leave they killed most of the Indians and put the rest on crummy land and told them to stay there.  I am just curious. Perhaps I am completely wrong but this is how I see it.

Unfortuantly the USA was not formed by the best of terms. Ignorance, greed, religion, and silly justifications in the past are apart of what made the USA what it is today. However, the actions of our ancestors can't justify the means of having someone cross the border to live here illegaly. There is and should continue to be a process in becoming a citizen of any country envolving atleast a background check. After all, we don't want to end up as a Country filled with criminals, rapist and murderers. As for causing problems, just look at the extra cost in heatlh care and taxes. Let's also look at how many USA citizins don't have jobs because an illegal immigrant is willing to work for less than minimum wage under the table and have insurance nor bennifits.

RedRedWine -> RE: Kids riot because? (3/29/2006 1:35:47 PM)

Ah yeah, I heard about that. It's like every student in every high school in my town went on some protest and started saying that it promots..I don't know..racisim or what not. Bogus..stupid...teenagers. Glad I never was one. Hah. I kid.  No, I'm serious. They want to cry and be all boo-hooey thinking that it teaches racisim? I would LOVE to see them go on strike against the clubs they start at school. And trust me, the clubs we have at high schools today are for the birds. The clubs these high schools allow the kids to start teach racisim and how to segregate themselves from each other.
These kids are so busy trying to show off how much they are against our president and this war that they don't even KNOW what's really going on. Illegal immagrants...I mean do they really sit down and take time to think anything over? No...I know I didn't until I was at least 17 or so, and even then I was still trying to clear the air on things.

I think I have more to say, but damnit it has slipped my mind. Hah, too bad I'm not in high school now...I'd go to school just to piss the other kids off.

FangsNfeet -> RE: Kids riot because? (4/4/2006 9:07:49 PM)

One would think all these H.S. kids would riot on something more important. How about will they recieve Social Security? Or why not riot about how Medicare D is screwing over there grandparents? Why not riot about gas, price increases on electricity, or even the SAT exam?

Off all the things that kids would riot about, why choose to be against a more strict imigration policy?

jtinklin -> RE: Kids riot because? (4/4/2006 9:46:25 PM)

One huge interesting fact Mexico shoots people who try to slip across their Southern border according to the reports from that region. Is is not COOL that BILLIONS flow into Mexico from the Illegals so why should they not laugh at our laws. Hey the more Illegals Mexico sends up here the more MONEY they have flowing into the fat cats pockets.
