However, Dubai police have said they are virtually certain that Mossad carried out the killing, and United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed vowed on Sunday to bring those responsible to justice.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman could face sharp questions from British and Irish counterparts in Brussels on Monday over the alleged use of forged European passports by a hit squad that killed Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai on January 19.

You have to give the Israelis credit, they do have very effective Intel and ways of dealing with enemies.

Could it be a frame-up?

The undercover squad was reported to have been eleven strong, and later seventeen. Such numbers are quite unnecessary and could only have maximized the danger of being caught. They traveled on foreign passports that had been tampered with, therefore bound to lead to high-level diplomatic ructions. They are further reported as wearing wigs and false beards, the equipment of 19th-century spies and easily detectable. Closed-circuit television cameras in the hotel where the assassination took place captured images of them all.

Does that sound like Mossad?

Who gave the mosad a license to go and kill politicians anywhere in the world they choose? it sounds to me they are criminals and should be brought to justice. This dubai killing will have some after effects on israel. fake passports? taking someone else identity? getting falsified credit cards? murder? lying? whats next?

I don't shed a tear for the guy who got whacked; in all, her probably got what he had coming.

But I keep thinking of the old saying- "when you step outside the law, you lose the protection of it."

What are we going to say if a Hamas sniper blows away an American Senator, or diplomat?
Or if AQ sends an umanned aircraft into an office building and kills a bunch of people in San Diego?

Will we grimly nod and say, "Well, thats how things go in wartime."

Or will we shriek and wail about how terribly cowardly and unfair and awful those guys are?

Fallout? Does anyone really think the Israeli gov't gives a shit over anyone laying this op on their doorstep.Granted the depiction of the Mossad operatives as some sort of keystone kops with cheezy mustaches might be troublesome but Israel has long enjoyed and indeed cultivated the popular image of the Mossad as their avenging angles ,never afraid to get blood on their hands.The Mossad does not wince at this sort of work...and their enemies know this.
By the way...good luck Foreign Minister Zayed.....bringing those responsible to "justice" should be a walk in the park for you......be sure to let the rest of us know how that works out for you....lol.

Yeah, I still remember duirng the Carter administration, when Israeli intel uncovered a plot to kill (then Egyptian leader) Anwar Sadat and released the info to the Egyptians through diplomatic channels. That led to the thaw between Egypt and Israel.

Ho hum. They can do whatver they damn well please, and can and do use a bit of help from our CIA from time to time. The CIA also does whatever the fuck it pleases anywhere in the world, as does MI6. The KGB, or their modern counterparts are not far behind. Russia has been strangely silent in recent years, and I think they just might have competent leaders who know when and where to pick a fight, and when not to.

Shit is going to build up, we are screwed a bit, but will recover. But all this, mark my words from former posts, was meant to happen almost as if it were planned. If not it boils down to human nature.

Maybe I come back and give you a prediction or two. I am always right, just not so accurate on dates. When this story broke i was convinced it was Mossad, but as more details come out, it looks rather dubious. Simply to much keystone cops over it to be them. I lean more to the idea that it is some faction fight among the Palestinians trying to blame the Jews. Mossad has done this kind of things numerous times before. Not once has it even come cloose to look this amateurish.

That said, the Israelis have always been keen to have as many factions in Palestine as possible, haven't they? It makes for the whole divide and conquer thing, and gives them an excuse not to negotiate with Hamas. (Which always puzzles me: given the amount of noise Israel always makes about being a democratic nation floating in a sea of 14th century theocracies and feudalist regencies, you'd think they'd be keen to deal with a democratically elected organisation like Hamas rather than the rump of what used to be the PLO...)

Note that I am not saying Jews, but I don't trust the government of Israel any farther than I could throw it. When I was seven years old they destroyed the USS Liberty, and tried to blame it on the Egyptians. And the reason they did it in the first place was to keep the US from getting details about the dirty deeds they were doing at the time. Our government capitulated.

What Israel did is not an issue with me, so what, it is a war whether people realize it or not. But the fact that the US government covered it up is a big issue with me. You are my friend and you poke out my eyes so it is OK ? Bunch of shit I say.

And, let me tell you all something. I have come to a self realization of late, that I am not afraid to die. Therefore no online threat will stop me and I fully intend to stop fucking pussyfooting around the issues of what Israel does and has done. Fuck anyone who doesn't like it either. The truth is the truth. That country is ruled by a bunch of motherfuckers who should all be sent to Gitmo for slow torture to death, and I think it should be televised. Fuck them and their hubris. And they might run the US government but they best be aware that they DO NOT control the people and we can have a pogrom just as fast as anyone else.

And I fully support, and indeed applaud those Jews in jail for refusing to return to active service in the IDF, stomping babies and shit. If I were Prsident I would trade Pollard for them. They would be welcome here as far as I am concerned.

I was interested in this when I heard it due to it being in Dubay and the assassins used British passports and stolen identity, Britain has always had a special relationship with Dubay and Dubay is in fact a British protectorate. It just seems odd to me, the killing of a Palestinian moslem leader in a British protectorate by assassins using stolen British identity. It is possible British identity was chosen because of the ease of which British passport holders access Dubai, an instant 30 day visa on entry or there is a political point being made here, as the obvious false facial and head cover and numbers of operatives used, is someone trying to create a tension for nefarious interests. Anyway, if they are caught or get caught and end up in the hands of the Dubay Emirate police, they are in the best hands.
