Status: offline 		Ok was thinking about what sums up Slaves?

Do You think This Sums it up Very well,
or not at all?

A slave is an individual who is wholly under the control and or power of another individual. Having surrendered freely his or her rights and privileges as an individual, and with both knowledge and forethought forfeited all freedom to act as an independent entity. A slave is the property of the owner; all that a slave has belongs to the owner, this includes his or her person, labor and belongings. A slave is devoted to the service and the will of his or her owner and serves with both honor and distinction.  Focused on a sense of duty and devotion a slave thrives at the opportunity to provide unconditional service and to exceed his or her owners expectations for Their Master or Mistress.

Status: offline 		It's an idealized definition - more like a constitution/charter for the 'slave country'.
I'd say "a slavegirl is a woman who gives herself up totally - and this makes her feel *herself* and free". (Modify as appropriate for other genders)

Status: offline 		i don't think there will ever be anything that completely sums up what a slave is. Alot of the descriptions of what a slave is, tends to be broad spectrum nowadays.

The word "slave" means something different to each Master/slave.

Each slave may identify with words or sentences within a definition, but everyone is different.. we identify with different aspects of our slavery.. there is no "one set way".
This is just my opinion and not one of others.

Status: offline 		this thread isn't about how i see or characterize differences.. each person has a different view of how their slavery or submission is to them. How i view mine may well be completely different to that of others..

I don't embrace this part. For me, power was taken, not given. He wanted it, he took it.

Nor this. This I don't embrace because of the word distinction.. it seems to be self-serving to me. To much focus on the slave and not enough on Master.

I don't focus on a sense of duty.. I don't serve because of a sense of duty.  I focus on Master and serve because I must... to do anything else means I'm not true to my nature. And I serve as I am capable of serving. I think it would be the height of hubris for me to think I exceeded expectations because I may excel at something he required. It's my belief that he expects the very best I have to offer.. how can I exceed that?

A slave becomes a slave when her Master feels her service is complete.... imo anyway.

I can't agree that I give up my right as an individual.  No matter my submission to my Master, I am still an indiviual.  It is my uniquness as such that attracted Master in the first place.  Without it, I am nothing more than a copy of everyone else, with nothing of distinction to offer Him.

For me, the difference isn't really that great, and it's more of a semantical difference in my life, but it goes like this...I can be made to submit. A look, a tone of voice, a tool from the tool box, and I can and will change my direction. I can be taken by the hand, or a handful of hair and made to do something, whether I want to or not…my body can be made to do what someone who has control wants it to do…but I can not be made to surrender.
