Here is what i find amusing, Master Ron.

Most believe all doctors make huge salaries. lol

Anyone who has not seen an episode of ER? Its reality in the making, for the most part. Bills they cant pay, days where the job never ends, ER full of both stupid cases and true emergencies, chaos and confusion. To believe that they are all rich, wallowing in money, and can afford to simply give up said profession in a boycott of something that has yet to be defined is, in my opinion, rather silly.

I dont think there will be a mass exodus either. But what there certainly will be is far fewer new doctors. The time and expense of obtaining an MD will no longer be justified. Same result, it will just take a little longer.

Hasn't happened anywhere else in the world, and no reason it would happen in the USA either.

In Germany, universities had to establish a special admissions system just for medicine to handle the huge number of students applying. Basically, if you aren't a straight-A student, you won't have a chance even getting admitted into the program.

It was really ironic when Rush Limbaugh got sick in Hawaii because Hawaii has a similar system to Canada and Rush Limbaugh didn't know it.

It was also ironic when Canada's Minister of Health fled to Florida to get surgery becasue he couldn't afford the wait up North.

It must have been some elective surgery, then. From what I read about that case it wasn't the "Minister of Health" but a provincial Premier, and it appears that he could have had the procedure in Canada, as well.

True. It will be far more expensive than they admit, balloon exponentially, and eventually collapse.

You mean, the way private health insurance is far more expensive than they admit, has ballooned exponentially (like Aetna's 40% premium hike in California) and has collapsed for the two thirds of Americans who don't have private health insurance.

My understanding is that the procedure was not available in his providence.

Not true, it was available in Canada but his doctor told him the guy in Miami was a better doctor, which means there is nothing wrong with Canadian healthcare
Canada can’t have all the best doctors.   Whether  you’re rich or poor every human life has equal value and healthcare should reflect that.

Not in Newfoundland. All that means is that it must be a fairly rare type of procedure that Newfoundland outsources. It was available in Ottawa and a number of other Canadian cities. I haven't heard the latest, but it seems that Canadian health insurance may have actually paid for the procedure in Miami.

Williams said if he's entitled to get money he's going to apply for the refund and I think he's going to get  money back but it depends how much it cost down in Miami.   I doubt very much if it cost twice as much money in Miami that he is going to get all of it back.
