quote:

Senator James Inhofe, R-Okla., today requested an Obama administration investigation into "the greatest scientific scandal of our generation" -- the climategate email scandal and subsequent revelations that have suggested man-made global warming alarmists had stronger political motives than scientific ethical standards.  Inhofe has also called for alarmist in chief Al Gore to be called back to Capitol Hill to testify.  Pajamas Media has the story:Senator Inhofe is asking the Department of Justice to investigate whether there has been research misconduct or criminal actions by the scientists involved, including Dr. Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University and Dr. James Hansen of Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Science.

Good luck trying getting this administration to admit GCC has been a fraud since day one. Holder is too busy giving terrorists rights, and hiring terrorist loving lawyers.

When was the last time you kissed a girl?

Inhofe is the biggest idiot in the Senate.

He has made a career out of making a fool of himself.

This is just one of his insightful pronouncements:

In March 2002, Inhofe also made a speech before the U.S. Senate that included the explicit suggestion that the 9/11 attacks were a form of divine retribution against the U.S. for failing to defend Israel.

In his words: "One of the reasons I believe the spiritual door was opened for an attack against the United States of America is that the policy of our Government has been to ask the Israelis, and demand it with pressure, not to retaliate in a significant way against the terrorist strikes that have been launched against them."

(wikipedia, James Inhofe)

So forgive me if I don't take anything this moron says seriously.

"the greatest scientific scandal of our generation"? Inhofe is scientifically illiterate but even for him this is OTT. Mann and Hansen's federal grants haven't exactly been in the billions of dollars.

Last I heard fraudsters were still somehow getting research grants from DoE and DARPA for cold fusion research. Want to get all bent out of shape over a scientific scandal that has been nothing but a sinkhole for taxpayer funds? Cold fusion is the one.

What we really need is an investigation of Senators who waste public time with pompous grandstanding designed solely to aggrandize themselves and play to their ignorant base.....now that would be some big ass investigation.....done right it just might shine a light on those assholes that populate both sides of the aisle !

mnottertail -> RE: Senator Calls for Investigation of Al Gore/Climategate (2/24/2010 7:26:52 AM)

Ah yes, it is midterms after all and so the fuckheads will be calling others on the carpet under any pretext to shunt any interest in their own shortcomings and ineptitude away from themselves.

Bait and Switch

Well than I'm just a little confused...did you not just start this thread seemingly lauding this idiot and his grandstanding while simultaneously expressing dissapointment over his chances of getting anywhere with his supposed "investigation"?

Musicmystery -> RE: Senator Calls for Investigation of Al Gore/Climategate (2/24/2010 8:42:18 AM)

~FR~

Scientific scandal?

How about the Scopes trial.

Science has nothing to do with this political bullshit.

Where did I "laud" anyone? I read a political story & thought to share it here.  Frankly I'm of the opinion that Congress as a whole needs to stop the posturing, pontificating, and time wasting, and concentrate on the issues that are important to the whole, and not the special interest minority.

No opinion on the thread topic, but since it's already hijacked...

You got 8000 posts in 4 years. He's got 1100 posts in 6 years.

It might be more apropos to ask if dommy has a life...

But it would still be as much of a dumb-ass question as when you asked it of the OP, so I won't. [:)]

That's highly subjective, I just think he's a moron playing to the lowest common denominator (I.E. Liberals) but anyhow, if my goal were to act like a clown, I could be Domiguy too.

mnottertail -> RE: Senator Calls for Investigation of Al Gore/Climategate (2/24/2010 10:34:40 AM)

no--the lowest common denominator would be neocons.

Yet he often manages to make valid points somewhere in the middle.

Raises the question--what IS your goal?
