ShaharThorne -> Cussing at the right time... (2/25/2010 4:07:30 AM)

I play Runescape, an medieval based game out of England.  there are mainly kids playing it, but I know a few grownups play on it as well (great anger management relief IMO).

Now, this game is self censoring, especially the common cuss words (ass does not get censored).  I enjoy that feature because I am there to play the game, not to talk my head off (chatting).

The other night, I was in the middle of fulfilling an assignment for my slayer skill when this person comes up to me, call me by my character name and starts cussing me out, saying fuc you and to do something to mine grandmother.

I do not know this kid but I did the right thing...I ignored him and reported his butt to the proper people.

Like I said, I am there to play the game, not to be insulted by a puppy who thinks since he is trying to grow up entitles him to to cuss at anyone.

Funny thing is...I cuss on here most of the time.  I know that most people take it with a grain of salt.  I love expressing my opinion here.  In gaming I follow the rules and that means no cussing allowed.

Does that make me wierd?  No.  I get on my Lizard's butt about her cussing, just like she used to do when I was the one cussing.  There is a time and place for cussing and IMO, doing it just to prove that you can do it is wrong.  Especially if the website is self-censoring.

Now I know the mods are going "what are we going to do with her", but then I have no need for the cussing unless it is to prove a point, not to insult anyone.

There, everyone can call me a bitch now..I am through rambling...LOL!

I recall I was five when I used my first cuss word. Can't even recall what it was, but my dad heard me.

He said "Son, it's ok to use those words around men. But never say that in front of a lady."

Keep in mind that was 1962.

True to my upbringing I can cuss up a storm with my male friends, but can only manage a heart-felt "Damn!" in front of a lady.

Besides, I'd much rather use an extended vocabulary ...

When I was 14, Dad and I went fishing on Lake Bob Sandlin for bass one day.  Dad was doing good and I was doing kinda poorlly when suddenly I had a bass on my line.  I was fighting to bring him in and Dad was trying to get the trawling motor up when the fishline went across the blades of the motor and was cut.  I let loose with either a "SHIT" or a "DAMN".  It was a good 8 pounder from the feel of it.  Dad just laughed...I am still convinced that he cut the line with the trawling motor on purpose.

same holds true.

woman are very fragile and should not be exposed to such language.    it is an easy way to end up in hot water.  even if they say they don't mind- they actually do mind.

next week- we can talk about bare feet and pregnant-- hehe.

but seriously-  foul language has backfired on me a few times.
