By definition, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community. Motive is irrelevant. Most of us are guilty of posting in this manner at some time or another no matter what our motive. Where do we draw the line when trolling? Whether troll bait or flame, where do the mods draw the line? Doormats are currently a somewhat inflammatory and very repetitive topic as seen in:

If you told your slave
Doormats
Afraid To Be A Slave
If You Love Your Doormat…
What does it say about a man that seeks a doormat?
What does it say about a man that seeks a doormat? Part II

Domiguy’s first attempt at posting “What does it say about a man that seeks a doormat?” was moved out of General BDSM to Random Poles and Stupidity. After the comment that his thread was moved due to his post history, Domi has raised an interesting challenge to the mods and reposted it in General BDSM as part II. Was his thread moved because in osf's thread “If you told your slave” he said something about being outdone by osf? Was it moved because it is the umpteenth thread about doormats and happened to be the straw that broke the camels back? osf’s thread “If you told your slave” is still in Ask a Master. As is NihilusZero’s thread “Doormats” still in the General BDSM and etc.

There is always troll favoritism on any forum. There are trolls with nothing but cute comments void of opinion or information. The one word answer trolls. There are the funny trolls with equally meaningless replies consuming space and only serving to raise personal post counts… and many more variations. We all have our favorites and despite their impartiality, the Mod Squad is human and may respond with bias on the rare occasion.

Lately many threads get moved and rightfully so in my opinion. Many others don’t. I think a lot more belongs in Random Polls and Stupidity than the few threads that have been moved there already. Mod Squad should move all that trash … including ALL the dumbass ‘doormat’, ‘slave vs sub’, ‘warning fakers’ and ‘what would you do if’ threads!

What say you?

Not sure it matters where it exists, it'll be seen.

The only difference is in some places more individuals will have a preconception of the thread worthiness.

Some have this attitude that they are adding to this great library of knowledge on the web and things should be indexed correctly but how many of those threads get revisited once they drop below page two anyway? If people do a search for doormats they'll see even the ones contained in polls and random stupidity. Who searches for doormats?

I'd say the definition of "troll" probably varies as widely as the number of active members posting on the boards. Even my mood while reading at a given time might determine whether I think something is trollish, or whether I find it amusing.

Purely my opinion, but sometimes when I see folks calling "troll!" it seems that it's more that they don't like the person and/or the opinion being expressed.

I see. Good point. I truly am low on coffee today, the concept people surfed through all these forums never struck me.

Personally, I rarely visit Off Topic and this may well be my first or second post here over a course of several years. I am very limited in the areas I surf on CollarMe forums.

On the whole, I really don't mind who creates what sort of thread. I would say that I only open about 2-5% of them. I tend to look at who created it and topic. Often times the only reason I visit a thread is because of an interesting comment I see scroll at the top of my screen. Quite often, the comments added later are the only value I see in it. Other times I get to the end and see there really isn't any reason to add anything and leave.

I figure I have a choice........no one is forcing me to read or post. I like having that choice.

Yes she would! I’m not talking latex but the authentic cloth habit with soft white cotton panties and bra.

In fact, any of the submissives would look hotter if dressed as nuns. Personally I am opposed to threads being moved to P&RS just to kill them, but then again I like anarchy...I would make a shitty mod as I'd almost never move anything and I sure as fuck wouldn't modspank anybody.
