Everyone is special in their own way. I'm guessing in your case, you must be more special than most since you clearly demonstrate it with your demonization of anyone that believes that love can heal any wounds with time.

And since you're handing out special people cards, perhaps you'd like to hand one out to yourself for being perhaps one of the most conceited and cold-hearted people I've had the pleasure of sharing discourse with.

You consider yourself to be a stable well-adjusted individual, but for some reason you feel it necessary to indulge in condemnation and insult of desires that just don't quite mesh with your particular philosophies.

This smacks of an inherent weakness and severe mental instability. People like you commonly attack those that freely admit to their own flaws, merely in an attempt to mask their own under a veil of contempt and hatred.

What if they are really, really fucking hot?

I might prioritize them higher even though they might not consider me to be the real deal. Sometimes it is fun to go to the amusement park even though I fully realize that the amusement park doesn't give two squirts about my very existence.

I love the sound bite psychiatry that is dolled out today.

I have heard that men have actually chased woman that were not initially impressed....Creepy? Probably. I have even heard that some have found success within these pursuits.

After reading this entire thread, all I have to say is that I do in fact feel a bit sorry for the OP. After all, Aqua is already taken and married. She has the porn-star looks going for her, the bewbages, AND she likes video games, comic books, and RPG's or LARP's.

Of course, to her credit, she also likes having a social life and might likely tell the OP to grow a spine instead of using that stick up his bottom as a surrogate.

One a second note, Dante, why would any woman want to spend SO much time with a self-obsessed and self-described asshole? That just sounds like a recipe for psychological abuse. To my mind it would be terrible to be nothing more than a carry-on bag (acessory) in a relationship. However, to each their own.

drunks find someone who drinks,

the sane (often) prefer to find someone else who is sane (insane isn't it?)

the broken (often) find someone else who is broken.

but I do believe that even in the guidebook of AA that you should avoid having relationships with another alcoholic. I think that is for good reason. Two drunks just aren't good at fixin' eachother as they would be on their own.

Same goes for my philosophy on relationships of any kind. Sometimes it is good to have things in common (hobbies, lifestyle, etc) at other times, it can only be disasterous.

I don't seek someone that's co-dependent. But I wouldn't be opposed to someone that was either. Healing has nothing to do with co-dependency. But I'm sure with your doctorate in psychiatry, you must know a great deal about co-dependency.

Of course it could be stated that slaves and subs are inherently co-dependent by the standards of normies. It's all really just a matter of perspective. Everyone these days seems to have a different definition of co-dependent.

Co-dependency is often confused with inter-dependency. Not to mention many common activities could be considered forms of co-dependency.

Co-dependency these days has more or less just become a catch-phrase people have come to use to label someone they can't stand being around or couldn't stand being around, or just someone they can only handle so much of.

Example...

Girl dates guy. Girl wants guy to spend more time with her because by her viewpoint, he hasn't really been spending much time with her. Guy claims the girl is co-dependent because to him spending more than a couple hours a day with her is co-dependency.

More often than not people have different views on what exactly co-dependency is. It's all relative, much like anything psychiatric.

In my opinion, if you can't spend a few hours alone once in a while, you might be co-dependent. But not necessarily. It could just be that you're in a new relationship and just really enjoy that person's company that much.

When dealing with psychological variables everything is relative to a point.

I tend to think everyone has a little asshole in them. I'm just honest about it, that's all. In my normal environment, I usually just kinda sit there, read a book, and/or listen to music. It's not like when I'm actually around people I go out of my way to be an asshole. I actually tend towards a reserved demeanor and speak only when I feel it necessary. I'm not much of a talker.

Of course this also depends on the individuals involved. I met a couple once, both were former alcoholics. Each understood how hard it was to not drink. Each inspired the other to not drink. Essentially they were good for one another because they understood each other perfectly. To this day (15 years later), neither drinks and both are highly successful.
