I posed questions to the OP to try to determine if this was his chosen Lady's style, or if he was aware of this and enough communicaton had been done before jumping in.
I still stand by the fact that I, and many I know, do not hold with the part time D/s and part time vanilla. The D/s or M/s is always there, even when necessary vanilla interaction in day to day life is happening.
He may not appreciate her style...I'm sure I wouldn't appreciate her style...if that was the case that equals a positive answer...Yes, she was not the right one. But I don't just turn the Dominant off, and I wouldn't want My boy to just turn the submissive off. There are ways to communicate with each other while leaving the dynamic intact.
Just a word to the OP about making sure he understands what it is he needs and expects from a D/s relationship, so he can make a better match the next time.

So somple for me to know if she is the right one. i tis really not much different from finding the right one in a vanilla relationship. it starts with mutual attraction to each other. Then discovering all the things you both share in lifestyle choices, beliefs, habits, hobbies, and all the things that make each of you want to be around the other. Next discover what each of you consider hard limits and decide if you are at least willing to try to expand your limits or desires to match what the Domme is into.
There will be that initial lust and wanting of each other. With any luck, the new respect fro each other will lead to love. now add what you both want and need in the way of a D/s relationship and presto, you have the perfect Domme.

For me, the right one is all about mutual love and respect. Without that there would not be a perfect Domme for me. Just a play partner that role plays.
