SO: If the far left doesn't get EVERYTHING it wants, they are acting in a "bipartisan" manner.

quote:

Pelosi: GOP has had its day; confident Dems can come together

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Republicans have left their mark on the healthcare bill and should accept that the bill will go forward.

"They've had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard," she said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning. "Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint."

I think she is saying that it's rather childish to block a bill just because you don't like the editor. Since the debate has been ongoing for months and Republican amendments have been incorporated, there is no reason for anyone to block it other than party politics. Does anyone think the Republican option will make more sense, considering it hasn't been debated at all? Will it look any different, we all know the sticking points so we all know the starting point for any brand new bill, it will look identical but the editor will be called Mr Republican.

The majority of people are just bored with the debate.

In other news...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she has much in common with the Tea Party.   The speaker now says she shares views with movement she dismissed last summer as being “Astroturf” --  her suggestion that the grassroots of the Tea Party were a creation of the Republican Party.

I don't guess there is much chance at all of San Francisco firing this hag.  What does the lineup look like for which Republican will take her gavel after the mid-term?

But then what would we do for entertainment. There's only so much "domken" and "brain" to go around, you know...

I'd love to see us have two votes on every issue--one to record the public vote, and one secret ballot.

We'd learn what was truly party line and where there's actually consensus.

"Hag" encompasses more than just appearance, Thorns.  I'm going after her character as well.  If I was just going to focus on her looks, I'd have referred to her as a cadaver with expensive make-up.

Where, oh where, is that fine line between sexism and inclusion?  Somewhere to my left, I'm guessing...

I think she was saying that along the way ideas from both sides that are part of the discussion can be included in a final bill even though one side eventually withdraws their support over other issues.

I thought the hag showed her true partisan stripes with her "that's what they do" comment.

I guess you missed the memo - female politicians are too dainty and fragile to take the same kind of name-calling and verbal abuse that their male counterparts can casually shrug off.

That's the general MO that seems to be.

Now Sanity you do understand that if you include some of what the republicans want and they still blindly rail against it they can end up looking even worse in the end?  The statement is we are willing to work together to help the country, why aren't you?

Bipartisan is not important. It is only important for losers like you now, who need it to block health care reform.  Republicans used reconciliation 16 times to get what they want, like Bush tax cuts for the rich -  it's time for Democrats to do the same.
