I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt that they are being honest. Experience has taught me to keep my guard up somewhat.

Trust is then earned slowly. People who insist on you trusting them early on are very likely trying to get  your guard down.

Bingo, this is exactly how think on this subject. I'd just like to add that someone who insists on trust coming first probably hasn't been able to get it from women when they get to know him. So he's trying to get it upfront to seal the deal so to speak before you know what he's about. Good heavens, if you were left to think and form opinions on your own you might refuse to deal with him and he's going to be left out in the cold....again.

I was reading some of the responses in the "Afraid to be a slave" thread and then you see things like this and so much of the other crud that goes on out here.

I sometimes think that this place is chocked full of wackos. Then again, I have to continually remind myself about the thread that Panda started about a third of Texans believing that humans walked with dinosaurs.

I do think that due to the fact that this is a "dating site" and then you throw in the element of bdsm that it attracts many more wackadooos than you find roaming the halls of say an E-harmony.

Elvis and common sense are dead.

The guy sounds like a classic loser.

I have 'met' guys like that on here. They demand this and that and I am like, and you are?

I wouldnt talk on the phone with someone unless I wanted to for whatever reason but I sure as shootin wouldnt meet someone I hadnt spoke on the phone with. That is me. I also would want a picture of them.

Someone who demands trust doesnt know what it is.

But Tupac LIIIIIIIIIIVES!

Or at least that's what a druggie in Leicester Square once told me very very insistently...

To the OP: Fair enough that a phone number requires trust. Fair enough that a R/L meet requires trust.

But an internet conversation?!

If they are not capable of chatting about the weather or whatever with you without investing so much of themselves in the conversation that they need to trust you before they can risk it, do you really want to be anywhere near them?
