I've seen a few scammer accounts along the lines of what CollarMe warns about avoiding / watching out for.....

I think this'd be a good topic for us to list how else we can spot them -even subtle signs;

Here's one.....
Scammer lists in bdsm interests things they hate and dislike......
- then next to those specified items they add 'expert'....!!!! LOL [sm=moon.gif]

The search feature is your friend.

why is expertise at an activity one doesn't like/hate indicative of a "scammer"?

it has been this slave's experience that some folks, from time to time, are required to be skillfull in activities that repulse them.

Please don't. Scammers are not stupid, and some do read the forums. Spelling out how they can make their profiles harder for users to spot is not a good idea.

The problem with all this is those who fall for scams never fall for good advice.

Some are stupid. Some potential suckers can also get good tips too. Collarme scam banner warning covers most of the basics in its extensive tips alert..... yet most scammers still carry on with the same 'tactics' listed in that warning.

Interesting so far seeing a few other users various feedback on this. [:)]

Great! So let's give the ones that are't a nice list on how to do it better! [8|]

As you noted, the basics are already covered by CM's banner.

Scammer/Fakes - there have been about 6 threads started in the last week - just 7 days.  Probably more.

Block, Delete, and move on.

sammer spotting? how about teaching them the use of scammer tampons?

Curiously,

Indeed as mentioned by fluffy etc. that topic is far more than done and dusted by now apart from that your theory actually makes me to a scammer as I have something in my list which I hate and still consider to be an expert in...thats not a contradiction...

So according to your theory I should let Master Richard know that he picked up a scammer on the airport last friday...gosh, that will make him laugh...[:D]

yes- I see your point and that a few members have that in their list. It seemed odd to me at first. In my mind I was relating something folks hate doing/undergoing would just be left as a hate/ dislike without necessitating further 'expansion' of how much on it..... as I viewed it. So to me it seemed bizarre as a contradiction.

Also 'search' is not what newer members will use or be aware to use not knowing scammers are around initially; so if they aren't aware of scamming via the CM warning banner, then maybe one of the rehashed posts on the topic will alert them in the forum.

Its annoying to see a topic beaten to death, but there will be 7 scam topics posted next week and 7 the next ; not for malicious reasons nor to be annoying -as long as scammers are around newer folks will post.

Scammers mostly do not modify their methods based on alerts here it seems... primarily scammers from Ghana still operate audaciously even with the CM scammer alert banner up warning of their likely being scam candidates.
