*fast reply*

I say sorry when I'm sorry and want someone to know.

Lorenzo19 -> RE: Men apologizing (3/1/2010 10:12:05 PM)

Apologies are bullshit. Taking responsibility for the screwup is meaningful.

Vendaval -> RE: Men apologizing (3/2/2010 3:58:52 PM)

I would rather someone not apologize at all if they are not sincere. Some people will show remorse by trying to be extra nice after making a complete mess of things and still not own up to being an ass.

Of the two women I mentioned, that's what one of them does; I ignore her, and it drives her nuts. If she'd only apologize, then the matter would be put aside almost immediately.

Vendaval -> RE: Men apologizing (3/2/2010 5:18:37 PM)

That does not surprise me at all!

I mean I guess so..... it's never come up.

That has GOT to be a goddamn joke. Oh please stop me from the laughter

I think I was laughing at the part where Jeff said "If there was ever a need, I'm sure I would apologize". That was the funny part.

kdsub -> RE: Men apologizing (3/4/2010 2:58:32 PM)

Could it be that when well-intentioned men apologize they mean it...It is a serious decision only made with great thought and conviction. That is not always the case for women. They often use the “apology” as a weapon dripping with satire or meant to influence with no real meaning behind it.

The above sounds like bull huh… I agree…and so is the article…I think there is little difference between men and women when it comes to their attempts to manipulate each other. Both can be equally sincere in an apology as well as manipulative.

It's not necessarily that men never apologize - it's more the overabundance of women apologizing for things they shouldn't be apologizing for. We even apologize when we've apologized inappropriately.

Ok, that sentence had too many "apologizes" in it, and now it doesn't look like a word anymore... [:)]

DarlingSavage -> RE: Men apologizing (3/4/2010 8:36:47 PM)

I'm sorry!

TheHeretic -> RE: Men apologizing (3/4/2010 10:06:38 PM)

I like my marriage very much.  Sometimes, I don't even know what I'm apologizing for, but if that's what the situation requires...[sm=imsorry.gif]

Vendaval -> RE: Men apologizing (3/5/2010 8:23:54 AM)

Spoken like a man who has been married for many years!

Aneirin -> RE: Men apologizing (3/5/2010 8:44:54 AM)

When in that institition called marriage, men saying sorry is an act of submission in trade for a quiet life.

Sometimes I don't have the strength or lack the desire to get up and fill her mouth full of cock.

Sometimes an apology will get her to shut the fuck up just as quick.

When I saw the scroll, I laughed and knew it was you.

But in all seriousness, I learned an ,"I'm sorry, you're right, I'm wrong, I'm sorry, I'll never do it again", albiet cute in the beginning of the relationship was a passive-agressive way to shut someone down.

I think in any long term relationship, that is gonna happen...  I know Ive done the same, but then so has he.
Over the years we have joked about it being his turn to apologise or my turn, but the respect is there to not just ignore when one of us has upset the other.

Aneirin -> RE: Men apologizing (3/5/2010 9:57:52 AM)

I know from past experience apologising became a habit, it got to the point where I had not a clue wtf I was apologising for when I did, I just did it, as I knew a quiet life ensued.
