I don't think those people who can afford the latest shiny gadget gives a shit about who or what built their latest dribble machine, they are more interested in their gadget and fact that they have it for it's kudos attracting qualities.
In fact look at all the gadgets we are able to afford in the West, it is highly likely it is the same underpaid, over worked people that built them as well.
The release of such information in Apple's case is more about damaging their public profile than anything else as few in the West care what happens in other countries and certainly won't ditch their wonder gadget for a news report, no matter how true it is, if they do, they have my admiration.
We are technically enjoying our easy lives on the backs of what amounts to no more than slave labour in far eastern countries, we get our products relatively cheap, definately affordable, because those that make them work longer hours than we would and get paid far less than we would accept as an extreme minimum. It is also usual, that they, the builders themselves cannot afford to buy what they make.
