Obviously, bdsm and D/s is not taught in most elementary and secondary schools, and usually isn't taught at home (though some kids, I think, figure out what's going on between mom and dad and their odd friends).

There is a lot to learn about techniques, passions, safe and sane behavior, and the like. 

To be honest, I've had a lot of fun learning, and learning by doing...
