I don't know about good, personally I think that putting nickel plated or brass rivets against the skin is a poor decision, especially in something where you're going to be thrashing and sweating every time. But yeah, his hardware is on par with what you'll find in bdsm gear.

Tandy is more expensive than most places but they sell equestrian grade equipment and hardware. Likely to stand up better than most fetish sellers.

I get my supplies from "The Leather Factory" they have many outlets in the US, and are online also I do believe.

Last I checked "The Leather Factory" and Tandy are the same company now, though I don't remember which bought the other.

Yeah, Tandy Leather and The Leather Factory merged about 5 years ago.  Nowadays, technically "who bought who" can be more of a bookkeeping trick than anything else (i.e. technically KMart bought Sears).  Since Tandy had retail stores for decades, i think they decided to keep Tandy out there as the name to see and remember.

Sometimes the best place to find quality hardware are vanilla places.  Determine the vanilla use for the hardware, then, search online for that type of product/store.  Brick-and-mortar hardware stores, especially the larger independent stores, have lotsa good stuff that you can actually touch and feel to verify it will work for your purposes.  In more rural areas, tack (horse) supply stores are good, as well as Tractor Supply Company

Another factor in your decision on where to get supplies has to do with the quantity or dollar amount in your order.  Weaver Leather requires a federal tax ID number and a $50 minimum.  Of course, if you buy retail you will be paying sales tax too.

For leathers see hidehouse.com. Look under "specials". They have best prices and good quality (buy 1. grade). Nowhere else you get 10 Oz fist grade latigo for 3.85 per sq ft.

tools too. hardware not so much.
