Manners lives pretty far away from me, so he's not in too much danger.
Peon, on the other hand, lives fifteen minutes away.

So he'd do better to watch himself....

Nope, never worked for me.  If I send back a message suggesting more effort the reply is usually a profanity laced sentence declaring that I must be fake.

Ok, but what about guys like me who actually read the whole profile and then send a message, usually talking about something I liked in it or asking for clarification about something I didnt quite understand? Doesnt common courtesy dictate at least a polite "thanks but no thanks" type of letter, as opposed to completely ignoring it?

Now that being said, Ive received one liners from random women who obviously did not read my profile, and yes, its irritating, especially the "do you want to serve me" types. No, I dont want to serve you, I dont even know you. Its obvious your a fucking idiot, so thats strike two. Then they go and exchange the shovel for a backhoe. They write back and say Im fake, that a "twue" sub would instantly fall at their feet, begging to serve them. Yeah, sorry, I aint THAT desperate.

You're absolutely right.  you do deserve a polite reply.  If a sub makes an effort to send me a respectful, polite first message I always message back.

I'm sorry if you have the experience of "dommes" telling you in their first message that you should fall at their feet.  Personally, I have never sent a message demanding anything of a sub whose profile interests me.

He has two (or  more) now, but I think there's at least one other in the not so distant past.

OP, men think it will work because they WANT it to work. It's like being a child and thinking that money grows on trees, you just have to find the tree. It would make more sense to go out and make some money by doing your chores or cutting someone's lawn but that might take some work. Just find the damn money tree and all your troubles are solved, all that you want is at your feet. There was an example in this very thread of someone who couldn't be troubled to take the time to write a thoughtful email to each woman he found interesting because he wasnt' guaranteed that someone real would be getting the fruits of his labor. So he'd rather not do it.
Also someone else pointed out that being lazy doesn't necessary belong to one gender over another...it's just the way it is. There are always people out there looking to take a short cut on things that genuinely take time and effort. Thank goodness  you can usually find out what they're about fairly quickly and pass them by.
