ORIGINAL: StrangerThan His estimated worth is somewhere between 600 million and 1 billion. Seems like a lot more thinks he gets it right. This is where you and a lot of other folk just fail to get it brain. Rush does not fill people's minds with lies. He does several things extremely well. First he predicts what democrats will do, but he does not wrap it in the same spin they do. They paint rosy gardens and stalwart defenders of American liberties. He simply spins it the other way. And he is very, very good at it. If he wasn't, he and his broadcasting company would have been dragged through court a million times over already. The second thing he does very well, is tap into anger that already exists. Rush isn't saying things that people on the street aren't already saying. What he does, however, is give them a focal point. Partly because of my work, partly because of my personality, I float in and out of liberal and conservative areas and groups. In fact, I spend most weeks in some of the most liberal institutions in America. Mostly what I do is listen. Both sides come away feeling common ground with me. Know why? Cause there is. I don't see either side as inherently evil or broken. I see real concerns on both sides that are constantly dismissed, derided or degraded by the other for no other reason than one is on one side, the other on another. It is complete bullshit. You know that particular fecal spot in the national landscape because you occupy it constantly in your posts. In fact, you seem to have squatted and claimed your 40 and a mule right in the middle of it. Until you, and a shitload of other dipwads realize that this rabid, frothing at the mouth liberalism goes down just as fucking bitter as taliban-like evangelism on the other side, people like Rush will enjoy more millions than you ever have a chance at seeing. A good part of the reason for that too, is simple. Democrats and liberal activists have excelled at attacking opposing opinions and ideas by making social pariahs out of those who differ. Witness tea party posts here as an excellent example. The need, the desire, the fomenting orgiastic craving is to paint anyone and everyone associated with them as racists for the simple reason that tactic has worked wonders for them in the past. It must be mind numbing to them that it hasn't produced the same results this time. Simply by mentioning that topic will cause two or three here to rush off to their personal library of see-I-told-you-so photographs. It allows them to dismiss and discredit the anger itself. And that is the fallacy. The anger is real. It is not driven in the large part by race. In many cases, it may not even be driven by clear talking points. What it is, is a deep-seated anger that has been building for years over government in general, social policies that are more and more invasive into homes, lives, and business. the constant driving of legislation by fringe groups and activists, the ever tightening noose around personal freedoms from both sides. Most tea party folks are disaffected Republicans - which makes the liberal hatred of them confusing. You folks should love them as they may do what you have been hoping for and praying for (those of you who pray), for years, and that is cause the disintegration of the Republican party. They're fed up, with both sides. If you want to view Rush for what he is, then think of him as the lens that acts as the focus. Without that anger, he is nothing. Without democrats falling in every fucking trap he lays, spinning shit backwards and reverse of what it actually is, he is nothing. So keep up your rabid denunciation of half of America. It too, allows you to ignore the anger that pours millions every year into his own personal coffers. Recently there was a post here too about a coffee party? Lol, what a fucking joke. It is one party that will cease to exist the moment Democrats lose the advantage. Cooperation my ass. Tea party folk aren't going to be happy with Republicans in power. It goes beyond the R and D even though most of them came from the R party. Rush mostly gets it right in his own way. That sucks for you, I know. But you know, I learn more about what Rush says from people like you than I do listening to him. I did tune in especially after the Mass election though. That would have been too good to miss.
