Okay so we have the biggest loser thread and we have music threads this is the baby of those two threads. So ladies and gents when you workout what music really pumps you up? Yes, I'm shamelessly using this thread to beef up the music on my ipod for running.

Here's some of my favorite tunes for when I run.

Cascada- Evacuate the dance floor
Demi Lovato- Remember December
Queen- Don't stop me now
Ke$ha- Tik Tok
Britney- 3- This is my song for the point when I think I can't run any further usually at 2 miles.
Capra- Low day
Jill Scott- Hate on Me
P!NK- Funhouse
Heart- NEver
Patti Smyth- Warrior
Glee- Don't stop believin'
Toby Mac- Burn for you
Jordin Spark- SOS
MJ-Thriller

Obviously I like a good beat when I run.. What about you?

ETA- I'm bad at punctuation.

When I first started running I had a mix that started with Spiderbait "Black Betty", leading into Ten Years After "I'm Goin' Home" (Live at Woodstock) then George Thorogood's "Who Do You Love?", and worked on down through Cream "Crossroads (Live at Fillmore)" and "South Australia" by the Pogues, and a few more from Thorogood, "Gear Jammer" and "Back to Wentzville".

But now I just enjoy the solitude and quiet.

Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves

Oh, that's wonderful! I wouldn't have thought of that.

I only use the Ipod when I'm doing cardio in the gym. Outdoors, I just live in the moment, and experience the joy of being outside. But 45 minutes or an hour on an elliptical or a stationary bike inside some damned building just drives me mad with boredom, so I made a mix that keeps me pumping.

Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Call Me The Breeze
Allman Brothers - Jessica
Allman Brothers - Southbound
Big Head Todd - Boom Boom Boom
The Blasters - Marie
The Blasters - American Music
Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown
Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll
Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot
Cream - Crossroads
Empty Set - The Lonely
Steve Wynn - Time Fades Away
Ghosthouse - Don't Cry No Tears (all three of those are covers from "This Note's For You," a Neil Young tribute CD)
Doctor John - Iko Iko
Ted Nugent - Great White Buffalo
Amboy Dukes - Journey To The Center Of The Mind
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Kenny Loggins - Footloose
Kenny Loggins - I'm Alright
Los Lobos - Don't Worry, Baby
Mozart - Overture to Marriage of Figaro
Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
Buddy Holly - Rave On
Buddy Holly - Oh, Boy
Buddy Holly - Not Fade Away
Buddy Holly - Maybe Baby
Bruce Springsteen - Cover Me
Bruce Springsteen - Badlands
Los Lobos - La Bamba
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Deep Purple - Fireball
Grateful Dead - Bertha
Santana- She's Not There
Santana - Savor/Jingo/Persuasion
James Gang - Must Be Love
Billy Squier - Everybody Wants You
Benny Goodman/Gene Krupa - Sing, Sing, Sing
U2 - Desire
Beatles - Helter Skelter
Blue Oyster Cult - Transmaniacon
Chuck Berry - Brown Eyed Handsome Man
Wilco - All You Fascists Are Bound To Lose
Elvis Presley - Blue Suede Shoes

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure I'm missing a couple. But it's a good mix, and when i set it on random, it's always fresh and spontaneous. Definitely keeps me going when I'm getting up over the 45 minute mark and starting to get bored.

Damn, you've got good taste. I forgot I have "Who Do You Love" on my mix too, but I don't understand why I never used "I'm Goin' Home." I'll add that on the morrow. "Black Betty" would be terrific, too. I'll have to get the CD and rip it. Thanks for the ideas!

I rarely listen to music when lifting, I prefer to concentrate. But if Slayer or Pantera is on, it can help me throw in a little more oomph.
